I'm not sure if it was set that way on purpose or if it's accidental, but I have to say the lack of spam from players not in-game today has been refreshing.
The Discord Server is up and running, and you can see the 100 chat on Discord, but you just can't pester the people in-game. So much non-game related chatter comes from people who hardly even play or trolling banter from those that aren't playing, etc.
Don't get me wrong, I think the ability to give a quick "hello" or ask, "has anyone seen so-and-so today?" is a good thing. Or just letting friends know you'll be on later.
But to go on and on about some programming project or to troll people who are actually able to be logged in at the moment--sometimes for an hour at a time--is excessive.
So, if it's accidental, I say make it a permanent thing. Maybe even meter the message rate for discord to 100 to something like a sentence or two every 15 minutes.

Anything to get people to log into the game is a good thing. Like email alerts. If people want to chat, they should just login.

My internet was wonky today. There is the ability to rate limit chat on the relay Discord channel. We could up that to something like once every minute or once every few minutes or something like that. Seems like a bit of the best from both scenarios. Can't sit there and spam and still enough to have a somewhat reasonably paced conversation.

If people are trolling/ranting/spamming, take their privilege away. No need to make everyone else suffer.
PS : The ignoreIRC plugin can also block discord messages from certain people. If you don't want to see any messages, ignore the bot.

BUT Aryko brings up a good point. Just take their discord privilege's away? Why hurt the entire group? The people who just chat normally? We should have the chat free and open for everyone if people misbehave the mods will take that privilege away from said person. Then they can't spam? It's a slippery slope.

+1. Why should players who aren't in game allowed to speak? Most of the time its just them badgering players in game or overall being a nuisance without breaking the rules. VO relay should be a one way thing, if they feel like talking they can login
I don't use the discord relay myself. That being said, I've got no problem with people using it to talk to folks in game, but there should be a rate limit, not on the relay as a whole, but per speaker. Maybe 1 message every 2 minutes per person gets relayed.

There are times certain people literally cannot log in, but would like to help out those in-game, and a severe rate limit will ultimately hamper their efforts while frustrating those who are in-game.
...but we also have a LOT of people who use the relay unseriously, when they really ought to log in. While I don't entirely like the idea of rate-limiting the relay, perhaps we could look into minimal restrictions or other barriers.

I think its majorly useful to figure out whats happening in-game and also talk to the players without actually logging into the game whether you were developer a freemium player its help if people don't like the cludder it people make in chat then the game isn't what you change its the discord message delay it can be set to an hour or just a few seconds to limit how much discord players chat to 100, getting rid or limiting how many people can use it isn't the answer don't be devs lol be your discord mods and limit us already. Shoutout to luxen* (gotta love type-ohs) showed me forms.
Vo discord being one way would take away for the experience but I wouldn't mind just seeing the 100 chat to see whats going on don't people without relay role already see it like that?

There are times where my internet is REALLY bad and I can't login into the game at all, as I live from the other side of the world from where VO server is located and have crappy connection.
Sometimes I also need to send a few messages in quick succession to answer some new-ish players' questioning about the game as VO can't support very long sentences.

Currently most of the players are just sitting on discord and spamming 100 most of the time , it should be 1 way relay only if someone want to chat in game - they should logon in game.
