Allow Capitol ships to follow like furies do.

I know the follow mechanic through jumps for furies is imperfect. It is however far better then how Cap-ships follow you through jumps, because they do not at all right now.

+1 This makes sense. That big MMC has got to have the computation power to understand a simple follow though sector/wh jump command. I'd give it an extended range to follow as well, like 2k instead of 1k.

Gonna go on a slight tangent here, please forgive me. :P

Avs were already pretty useless against capships but the more autonomous they're made to be the less useful avalons become, which is a damn shame because avalons should be the anti capital ship weapon give how uselss they are at everything else short of nuking bots in that unknown sector.

I'm not particularly against the suggestion but i'm a little peeved that the capships commands make avalon bombing runs practically impossible when they already had a very high flying skill requirement (compared to traditional swarm/gem bombers) when capships were just sitting ducks.

Inc has stated elsewhere that he might consider giving avs minor course correction abilities. If he was to do this, that might mitigate your notion that avalon attacks are impossible.

The problem then becomes that avs are extremely slow so unless they get guidance and speed buff simultaneously they'll be extremely easy to evade because despite play caps lack of speed and maneuverability 10m/s is a little too slow even when you put that speed up against tridents.

Due to how missile mechanics work in the game missiles decelerate/accelerate to whatever speed's in their stats and since avs only go 10m/s giving them guidance in their current state would be more of a nerf than anything for a bunch of reasons that I'm not going to bother diving into because we're already way off kilter here.

I'd rather see avs being made more powerful [10~20%] have no initial velocity what-so-ever that would make them true anti-capship weapons since they'd travel in the exact same vector your ship's moving in. This would force people to align to where the capships going to be, essentially forcing mental relative velocity & acceleration calculations (aka 1337 g8mr skillz) by the attacking pilot.

Spidey, how about you make your own thread for an avalon buff. The developers have stated in the past that they prefer one thread per suggestion.

I should probably point out that IF av's are currently useless against player cap ships, then my suggestion can't possibly make them worse. Though I do agree they could use some kinda buff.

Just responding quickly to the OP.. the capship commands are a work-in-progress. We know they're limited, I posted about that when we rolled out the commands.

But the limitations aren't a random accident, nor are they simply some intentional design issue. Capships do not work anything like furies. Capships are much more complex, in terms of the amount of data they track and move around; they don't use the same code as the furies, it isn't written in the same language, nor is it even from the same decade.

So, capship capabilities will evolve in time. But this isn't something where we can just say "hey, make it like furies!" and drop in a quick change.
