This new KOS rule should only apply to killing UIT. Serco and Itani are at war and should only have to worry about the faction standing. If Serco and Itani leave their nation space, they should be free game in UIT, especially to each other, but also to uit.
The UIT is a trading nation, and the Serco and Itani are their primary trading partners. It doesn't really make a whole lot of sense for them to want their own Nation space, their own territory, to be some kind of battle free-for-all, like Deneb?
That doesn't seem like it would be good for trade.
Similarly, this would be inconsistent with how things have always worked in the game. The challenge is in Guarded sectors, attacking anyone considered by "the local station" to be "a friend" is an act of aggression that they find undesirable. The existing TempKoS ramifications for this behaviour have been in place for a long time.
All that has changed with the recent update, is that now more than one factional station, within the UIT Nation borders, will react negatively to your behaviour anywhere inside those borders, and observe the TempKoS period. Basically, you could say the UIT stations simply "communicate" regarding accumulation and enforcement of TempKoS states. That seems pretty consistent.
To make some kind of factional exclusivity would be a bit weird. And it would then kick up the question of whether all stations should just let the Serco and Itani duke it out "anywhere". I mean, what you're asking for isn't really related to tonight's change at all, but instead is rather to special-case allowing the Serco fighting the Itani in any Guarded location, which would include Corporate stations in Grayspace as well.
That would seem like kind of a strange change, and not one in keeping with the general idea that these rule-systems and standing-systems promote areas of commerce and a "gradient" of increased safety, particularly for the benefit of the nearby station.
Plus, there's still all of Itani space, and Serco space, and Grayspace, for the Serco and Itani to "do battle", without any changes in restriction from this update. In other words, almost the entire galaxy.
Reducing their "warfare opportunities" by four systems doesn't seem like that big of a deal.

I find this interesting because it actually goes against certian internal faction wars. Prime example: valent and Axia. I dont think they would communicate between each other i think they would egg on the pilot that shot at a patron of the other side.
Also with this kind of connection it basically makes pirateing almost impossible you changed KOS rules to make corvus less pirate friendly. Corvus has traditionally been a pirate haven yet now its not. Alot of the recent KOS changes have been counter intuitive in certian areas. Is this a Combat game or a long term trade and build sim? Your recent changes has drastically dropped the ammount of PVP content available. You used to say pirateing was a mainstay of the game now you work actively against that particular area of game play.
This is a personal opinion on the matter. I sound like im advocateing pirateing and i somewhat am for 2 reasons 1) the biggest thrill i had in the game for my trade amd build days was knowing i out smarted a pirate and got my cargo safely where it needed to be. The other is i am a part time pirate myself. I see these changes and think now theres no challenge to out run a pirate becuse outside of a rare few cases there are few pirates willing to fire in nation space as is and in certian greyspace areas. Now you make it to where we shot in one we are basically shooting in all which means not only have you shut us off from corvus essentially you now havs made ALL of the stations bascially non PVP areas. Which limits us majorly in all but a VERY small area maybe 20 max WH sectors where we can shoot. You recent changes to dying not changing corvus TKOS and makeing it a ingame time TKOS on all means only those with a HUGE ammount of time or that can leave vendetta running basically 24/7 can PVP outside thos sectors. One again not all will be deterred. This is catering to carebears at this point in a PVP oriented game.
Yes space is big but 3/4 or more of space isnt used excpt for bypassing storms and botting and these updates for KOS wont change that fact
pirates have had it very much in there favor targeting a lot of new players, Harass them in chat, Grief them, camp them & charging them around 300k when they only just starting out
New players are mobile mostly and they have no idea
if it's so hard for new players in the early stages of the game then they often stop playing
so anything that makes it easier or less trouble some for new players is a good thing for VO
for player pirates they are often far more experienced i feel this is more in line with having a balance within the game
grey is still grey
i fully support this update 100%

I think it’s a good update, UIT have simply asserted that combat within their borders will not be tolerated. Your concerns, personally don’t hold too much ground, “now 3/4 of the galaxy isn’t pvp friendly” sounds similar to ONE complaining that only “3/4 of the galaxy isn’t Serco” doesn’t make much sense. Grey space is a pirates home, UIT is not. To a degree I do understand why your upset. Grey is often a quiet place and UIT is often full of players to shoot at. I suggest that there be missions that go from nation to grey to make it more relevant because as it stands there’s no reason to go to grey aside from hive skirms and manufacturing. Perhaps somthing like convoy missions can go from nation to grey and the possible range they pay is increased so instead of 10k to 400k it’s 100k to 600k type deal. I understand your frustration Krazy but I don’t agree with it. Though you did mention the Valent / Axia faction disputes I think more missions that incorporate more lore into them would also be pretty cool. All in all I thank UIT for making this decision (and the devs who implemented it) to make guiding the hands of new UIT players that much easier. 10/10 everyone liked that (almost)
This was a very good change!
UIT always was the primary hunting ground for griefers, because it was easy to get in and get free pks.
Most newbies are choose UIT, so griefers had an easy work.
This change made it significantly safer for everyone, especially newbies who just joined the game. Before they just joined and got killed right away by griefers, and even rage quit maybe.
Now this change will make every griefer to think twice if worth to hunt in UIT, and get TempKoS for 24 hours by all factions in UIT of they kill 3 players

I rat about 1/10 the time i play, You know the character.
What I can say is I'm glad for this update; It gives more of a challenge; reason to get crafty.
You're a pirate, You break the law, when you get caught you take the consequences. -- Don't shoot in monitored space, don't get caught...
I'm sorry that it's the "United Independent Territories"
We're united, you think that UIT or TPG would allow pirates in their borders to kill trade? No..
UIT/TPG would be up on top of that, pirates in their air-space means danger to those in their space, which means a danger/drop in profits.... That is what UIT is about, we build/research/trade mainly for profits with that of the Itani/Serco war.
As Blighty/stair/hun pointed out... Pirates pick on newbies until they quit.
I myself in my first week of this game sat in sedina L-2 with Seiger camping my station for nearly 12+ hours.. I quit and only came back when i saw a newsletter and was trying to remember what the game was.
This way a player looking for that "Neutral" feel among the three nations wont be attacked over and over again killed repeatedly by a rat hiding in another nation's station simply bc the SF wont come there to kill them...
I look at this as a way to hopefully keep some of our new playerbase... They're have to get passed the (less) toxic comms, but at least gameplay will be more bearable for the newer player.
Your a "Vet", think about the newer players..

Pirates don't camp new players till they rage quit, those are griefers... A change that makes this harder is good for VO.
You cant gain much from newbs who just started. They often get fed up and leave VO and thats bad for everyone.
I agree with krazyxcdriver that there's room for improvements regarding axia/valent "war". Could be something as simple as you not being KoS/Temp-KoS by the opposing factions station sectors.
VO without pirates would be absolutely boring, they add a lot of action and thrill to the game. Griefing newbs that just come out of the newbsector are no challenge in PvP and its just lame. After all, the skilled players and the expensive cargo all goes through or are in grey anyway.

A well aimed hammer that comment was, Xeha.

I agree with the Temp KOS within all stations within UIT space. This has been long overdue and Thank Inc for finally getting this in place.
I only have one question - does this standing loss with all Nations within UIT apply also for any standing loss that is beyone the Temp KOS. If now, I truly believe it should as it would make things better for all UIT players, especially the new ones.
NO RAT should be able to be KOS with any Nation within UIT borders, especially UIT KOS, and still have stations within UIT that they could run to and dock for repair or safety. UIT borders, including all stations within those borders, should be like it is within Serco and Itani borders, no station permitting any KOS player to dock at any time.
If this is not the case with this, I will make it a suggestion, either here or another suggestion thread, which ever will get the job done.

NC-Crusader: You currently cannot dock in Dau or Arta Celeste in any station while UiT KOS (temp or otherwise), but the other systems only lock you out of you are temp KOS for _anyone_ in UiT space. Perm KOS behaves exactly like it did before this update, so you just get locked out of the first two for that, unless you trigger a temp KOS for one of the sub factions too.

If someone is hate/kos with UIT they will NOT be able to dock anywhere in UIT. Even if they are admired with a subfaction. This was confirmed by a CLM pilot last night.

Meh VO turning very carebear
Regarding the Valent/Axia wars remember UIT are still an nation They still commonly defend them selves. For example if Lets say A huge Unaligned fleet was attacking uit ALL uit corps would send fleets to defend.
Can't trade if you don't have a "safe" place to trade in or an Empire to trade at all in. Lore wise its very sound and this update is pretty logical because now UIT is simply 1 empire like serco/itani. Bottom line has Inc said combat is bad for trade. UIT encourages trade they are a trading nation.
Really this was a bad inconstancy that should have been closed years ago.
Nothings saying you cant pirate in UIT. Now it's as hard as in Itani/serco space. Greyspace is where the action is supposed to be. The Bar is higher now. Adapt or die. More people should be in greyspace trying to claim their names. The nations are way more powerful then us. If a UIT law is passed because the prating is hurting their trading margins. That now all factions will T-KOS you now and UIT is basically one Nation when it comes to T-KOS so you cant hide in a sub factions station. So think twice when you want to kill that guy in that Orion Station or that TPG station. In my eyes the update rids the inconsistences of how UIT rules worked.

Yes but at the same time yall are missing the corvus changes which IS A PIRATE styled corp and how things are harder there as well
Like i said VO has become a carebear game
