We all used mk2 gats and we know how awesome it is. But there is the Gatling HV too...
First I thought it will be better, but its actually worse!
It has almost non existent autoaim, and sprays in a very wide angle.
Which makes it almost useless. Hitting bots is impossible, in pvp its not much better because its autoaim.

I think its spread should be decreased to Queen Gatling level, and its autoaim should be increased to gauss-like or a bit higher level, but still lower compared to a gatling mk2, and its weight could be increased to 1000-1200kg.

This weapon really deserves a buff, because considering its higher price its should be better. With this it could be a good choice for capship pilots as a main, high dps and long range weapon, and more accessible that queen gats. Plus would be much more usable in PvP and botting.

The Gat HV was buffed a few years back. It is supposed to have poor autoaim. Because it doesn't have all the heavy mechanical stuff to make the autoaim work. It has a use. If you have not figured out the use, stick with hive gats. Note that it is basically a normal Gat with some mods. Whereas the Queen gat is a modified Gat II.

It has a use?

HV gats are has no use except sometimes in capships
Their spread is way too much, and without better AA is very hard to use!
Gats compensate their inaccuracy with autoaim at close range.
But HV gats has no good AA at all
Currently thes are terribly useless and bad, except maybe in capships cuz their long range
But on lighter ships? Vs bots or something?
They suck.

A very slight tightening of their spread might be ok. Currently I think it may simply be under-utilized. Most people run Mposi's on the front of capships, or Q gat's or TU's.

I'll have to play around some time soon with running a Gatling HV on a dent and try it in combat. It might just work.
