New attachments for capital ships
I have been observing the capital ships for a long time and I cannot understand something. Why are these giants that people spend a lot of time and effort to create, so weak. By saying this, I mean that capital ships use the same weapons as regular ships, and even in the amount of only one piece. I suggest making the following changes. Add weapons for large ports that only capital ships can equip, similar to how capital turrets do. Add to the game a weapon that will be much stronger than ordinary and which will require 25 units of energy, and even stronger 40 units, in order to exclude installation on simple ships and draw a line between the goliath and the trident. Therefore, add 25 units of energy to Goliath and 40 units to Trident. Or just restrict the installation of capital guns on simple ships. Also add Mining Beams for capital ships that will mine ore faster. These changes will take capital to a higher level and make them more realistic, powerful, versatile and desirable. Since now their firepower and ore production, excluding turrets, are much lower than in ordinary ships. Thank you for your attention.
First of all, let's establish that "observing" something, and "experiencing" something, can produce two very different perspectives ;)
It would seem that you are judging capital ships to be "weak", or that, "...their firepower and ore production, excluding turrets, are much lower than in ordinary ships", all based upon the fact that both capital ships have only one large weapons port? You can't call a Trident "lower" in firepower than a BHM2 by simply ignoring the presence of 4 capital-class turret ports. Sorry, friend, but that is a false-equivalency.
RRuslan, let me give you a bit of perspective from the "experience" side of things: player-built capital ships used to be more powerful than they are now, but have been slowly balanced, in many respects, so that they are not uber-dominant in some situations. For example, goliaths used to be able to show up to a small skirmish in deneb and wipe the place clean in about 30 min...tridents used to be able to focus 4 caprails on one target...tridents also used to be able to "stack" 4 capswarms on a target.
Also, consider this: there are yet to be released versions of the trident (Trident Type S and Trident Type P) that will broaden the possibilities for this particular capital ship's versatility to be build-specific from square one. I'm guessing one will carry more cargo, and the other will carry more clout ;)
Now, i'm going to guess that you have yet to build and pilot a capital ship in VO, so i'm going to give another bit of perspective: once you launch in a capital ship, it literally transforms how you play the game: you now have a multi-purpose, shielded vessel with capital-class turrets and a dock-- essentially a floating station that you can customize for whatever you are up to. <---that's a paradigm shift. Plus, something you might also not be aware of: capital ships have a massive powercell with a very high rate of charge...how would you like to have a hive-queen gat-cannon, mega-positron, or plasma annihilator with unlimited ammo?

You also forget that capships are, quite plainly, "Underdeveloped" as i'll call it. Incarnate has mentioned quite frequently throughout previous threads that even the way capships are controlled and function hadn't been fully developed when they released. He's also said a whole bunch of other neat to read stuff, but I can't threadhunt right now.
I can add, being an owner of one of the earlier Tridents made, that the ship I fly today has evolved over time into quite powerhouse and useful vessel.
We started out with NO SHIELDS, and as such, a noob in an EC could kill one if they could stay next to it and not get shot.
The Turret weapons used today are quite a bit more destructive that the early ones. You can see that when you look at the Capital Class Weapons and compare those to normal turret weapons.
At first, we could carry and use any of our own ships while flying the Trident. Neither could we man and use our own turrets, which made us somewhat of a sitting duck for anyone else. The only Large port weapon that was of any use, since it is the only one we could use, was the Tellular Mine (Nuke) which did a lot of damage, but had to be refilled, since only holds 2 mines. This involved a trip to Latos M-7 for reload, which was the only station we could dock with, and this was the old M-7 where the dock was about 30k from entry point.
The Devs have done a lot to help Capship owners and Capship builders since the Dent was first introduced. We thank them for all they have done and are looking forward to the time when new and larger ships are available for us to build.
I do agree that we need some items made exclusively for our Cap Ships, but am willing to wait because they know what we need and are working on them as they can.

Yah the capship meta isn't finished by any means. Hopefully we would get automated gunners. More turrets, more capital exclusive stuff, and defining capital ships giveing them clear advantages and disadvantages between hull types and so on. This has been said somewhere in these endless forums.
