better suggestion for newbie sectors...
why don't we cap the newbie sectors at a level? say combat 4? I fly in my shielded dent in arta and dau? do I really need newbie protection? no! Maybe we can agree on a cutoff for newbie protection?
Agreed though not sure 4 is high enough
could always just be the first level ships, too.. like ec 89, hog 1, up to atlas 1.

They should be left as is, and newbie protection should be increased considering how easy it is to infiltrate and kill them.

I suggest making it tied to combat and heavy weapon lics. Once you hit heavy 9 and combat 12 you are no longer protected.
Biretak, what is it that you're actually hoping to achieve, here? And don't rant about "magic" or "realism" or whatever else, I'm not interested in those justifications; I'm asking explicitly what gameplay goal you're trying to serve?

As I've said in the past, the game universe is going to expand. The most "interesting" (high-level) stuff is going to happen on the outside edges, where Nation space will become increasingly lawful, with more effective strike forces and longer-term Temp KoS ramifications.
It'll still be theoretically possible to pirate people there, but it's probably not going to be real successful.

Yah the High level stuff being making the most credits in grey. With more risk comes more reward and so on. Again it seems like OP wants nation space to be less safe for anyone really. Inc is right the high level and hopefully the most credit making options should be around the edges of nation space and into grey space
Vearsi is a great example of the edges of nation space are still lawful but the Security there is lack luster.

Inc... ray asked me to expand on this... say a uit is in itan capitlal station.. if they can get there they should be free game... but shooting uit in itan or serco capitol sations if you are uit they get magic shield. The protection should only be for same faction.
