capitol ship insurance mission
The capitol ship insurance mission should be available from all stations with a capitol ship dock
but at varying prices
in Latos M-7 it should cost 500000
in Odia 1000000
and in regulated space 2000000

I don't necessarily have anything against this. But I think it should be specific to where a capital ship was first built. While M7 happens to be the THE capship yards., the capship built there are kind of illicit knockoffs. I can't imagine that TPG is very happy Corvus is building capital ships in the Corvus M7 yard and that the plans are probably stolen.
When we finally get things like the S&P's, maybe the nations will take part in more open capship building. When that happens, some kind of capship being built in nation space would make sense.
Maybe a goliath could be built in a capital sector, but things like trident type m's should remain in m7.

If we were ever to get P and S variants that are presumably manufactured by P and S derived parts this would make more sense, but only for P in Itan and S in Serco... M could be UIT and Gray.
But it seems to make more sense for Type M to come from (or very near) gray...
Alternatively, some kind of "pre-order" mission might make more sense, where you basically place an order for a replacement Type M that you might use in the future and it takes an appropriate amount of time for the order to be filled (i.e. the station has to procure the Milanar parts). So, for example, if you wanted a replacement Trident in Itan J-11, the order would take 5 days to mature, and the closer you got to Latos the less time it would take.
It is for sure a giant pain in the ass to lose your trident doing activities in blue or red space and have to go all the way back to Latos for another ship.

Agree with the need to be able to replace Dent in more places that just M-7 since we can now dock at several other places. I disagree with the big difference in prices that you posted.
Possibly 500,000 in Latos and Odia
1,000,000 in Nation space UIT, Itani, Serco.
You would still have to stock up on your weapon of choice in the station of your choice since they are not available everywhere.
I also agree with a timer, possibly replacement available at interval of 24-48 hours since the last replacement you got. This would also be good at all stations, not just Nation space ones.

It's fair to say anyone with a capital ship can easily afford a million credits worth of rebuy.
If it needs to be available in Itan/Sol, it should be tied behind Deneb contribution. It makes sense for a nation to let you get a capital ship given you have contributed considerably to repel the enemy.

+1 with greenwalls ideas. but, should be cheaper in m7. 500k is a lot for those of us who don't spend time trading and haven't stocked up on credits like the vets.
I agree with anything that makes capship losses actually mean something. Greenwall's idea is great. Combined with increasing costs in different regions of space.
