Private/Limited Discord Voice Chat Channels
With VO becoming more active in the past few months, I believe as a user of the discord Voice Chat we should implement Private Voice channels limiting to a number of people per channels. If possible can we get these new channels:
3 new Voice chat channel with a limit of 2 people
2 new Voice chat channel with a limit of 3 people
2 new Voice chat channel with a limit of 4 people
This will allow pirates, traders, and just regulars to hop on discord with their friends and chat with one another as they’re working together on a common goal. Not only this will prevent a confusion with everyone in one channel (which is what we have now),but let players use the discord server to have a full advantage on coming up with strategies or just getting to know each other without different play style groups butting in and spying. -Bqnzai (Discord if you want to discuss about more @devs: Bqnzai#5155)

I don’t think that in game voice chat allows players to be in groups and talk privately, I think it only transmits to people in the same sector as you. (Response to Scion)

In game voice chat requires you to be in the same group / guild. Discord allows pretty much anyone to join which has it's own advantages and disadvantages. Voice chat also has a tendency to crash your game, both pc and mobile.
+1 to OP, would be nice to have some limited voice channels with 2-4 people

Personally I think this is a waste of development resources.
My understanding is that creating your own discord server is free. This sounds like something that you can do yourself.

Creating new voice channels for the discord server is as simple as 3 buttons so I don’t think there is really any “development resource” involve , and also big or growing game communities tend to like to use the game their playing on’s discord as a way of comms, plus it can attract more people new or old from in game to join the discord server and keep in touch with the devs and content creators. I wouldn't mind adding a second or third regular voice channel for events or whatever, but limited voice channels don't sound necessary; I also agree with LNH a bit. at least up to the point that if you are actually bothered by privacy, a private server is definitely the way to go.

This is literally what in-game voice chat was made for. It handles groups just fine, since that was the original use-case. So, you can just group up with the people you're playing with?
I mean.. "grouping" as a structure also exists to help people work towards a common goal.
