Allow unarmed empty Players into the training area

At times it is difficult to help some new players when you can seen where they actually are or what they are really doing.

Players with no weapons availible and no cargo (perhaps even limited to ec 89) would be in a much better position to help the new players and would pose no threat to them either.

+1 I want to mine that xith roid.

edit: will say that it is pretty easy to spin up a brand new alt to help a noob out.

This could be very easily abused. Sure, you can’t bring in mega weapons that can easily destroy ECs, but if you bring a Goli in, for example, you can let them dock up, then fly them out to grey, and when they get out, your friends destroy them.

So no cappies. Ec's - only would pretty much kill any chance of abuse but might be a bit limiting as well.

Mining beams are pretty much weapons as seen by the system. They occupy a port and are connected to a trigger. I suspect they would require an exemption to be allowed. The devs would have to figure all that out.

What about anyone can fly in but everything has to be gov issue, and there can’t be any cargo in your hold when you arrive. This way, you can mine, (If I remember, there are gov mining lasers), but you can’t harm newbs. Going in without an empty EC-89 with govs will earn you the current greeting to training sectors.

I think that seems fair.

I know for a fact that in the training sectors, all weapons do the same amount of damage as a training blaster. Including avalons and TU mines.

But as i said before, just make an alt and go there. Call it PaKettle II. You have six slots, use em.

You really want to dedicate several alts just to help a few newbs? I do admire the dedication Float.

The point of the trip is to help and mentor new players. Not to mine trade or anything else.
The training sectors have the special instant death protection in place to provide a very safe place for the new players to learn flying and other skills they need to survive in our world. Anything that could possibly be abused must be prevented. Anything that could be used to kill a new player is a non starter.

The whole point of this is to allow mentors a convenient way to help our more difficult cases.

Well since freemium is on PC as well now, it really doesn't take much to make a new account to help someone in the training sector if they are really having a hard time.

You can already do this - just start a new account and you can go into the training sector without weapons etc.
