In station bulk ore transfers
Normally I oppose in station transfers between players as too safe.
However...
Moving large amounts of ore can take 100 or more rather tedious trips around the station which gets old fast.
A simple command line method would be good enough as it wont get used much.
Perhaps /giveore %playername% %orename% %amount%
Only if players are both in the same station.
Amount only in 1000 cu increments
so /giveore "Incarnate" "Aquean" 20 would send 20000 cus of aquean ore to Incarnate if he is in the same station.
Bear in mind this does not eliminate the work of mining the ore or transporting it to its final destination.

I would support this for 'junk' ores the stuff that when you mine it comes out as 'premium' or the plain variants of them. That probably covers the overwhelming majority of the use-cases for this anyway.
+1
Why not extend it to all market commodities? Transferring something like silksteel is just as tedious.

Aryko, you can already do that. Sell to the station, and have the other person buy from the station. This works in Latos C-2, N-2, and N-15.
That’s great if you are in Latos, not so much the other 95% of the traversable universe.
Dont know about silksteel and the like. Does anyone actually deal in 1000+ amounts?
I'm not sure about silksteel and the like either. Greenwall does have a point though. That point would/will be rendered academic if/when the rest of the stations work like the Latos ones do. What I don't know is Incarnates plans, nor the timeline of those plans in regards to making more stations function like the Latos ones do at present.
crafting can require 1000+ amounts easily.
The suggestion is a solid one and I wouldn't be surprised if it's "in the plans". Keep in mind where we came from though -- where originally crafting capship parts required undocking/redocking for EVERY ingredient. That was around for a long time before it was all done while in station. I'm pretty sure Conflict Diamond and perhaps some others made their full tridents this way. Insanity, I think.

-1 grow a pair and don’t whine when you lose it. Just wait and see what the plan is. Doing things in station eliminates the game play of those who like to find things. :)
*gasps* Oh look! Pirates whining about losing things/not being able to get them by killing because people are doing things the smart and wise way! Instead of doing the lazy way, how about you do it the long way instead of killing players who spent time, patience, sweat, and tears into it.
as someone who primarily practices pirate RP, I disagree with kbireta's opinion.
There is enough pirating opportunity to be had in the transferring of the large quantities of ore to the station. That someone must be further burdened with a 200cu limit and undocking/docking if a trade is to occur is lame. It's likely that making this easier would increase those interested in trading ores, and thus increase the pirating opportunities.

The goliath build requires over 10k ss, Outer hull plate which is almost only required in latos i-8 is a little over 10k cu.
I don't see how this impedes pirates? It's just ores and commodities sold at markets, not manu stuff. Dropping it out of a station and having a friend pick it up in the NFZ is just tedious af, and I doubt a lot of pirates want to go dropping their standings for 200 silksteel or OHP.

With a 1000 unit increment I don't see that moving stuff like sss would deny the pirates their chance to get rich. The devs have the final say of course.
yea i like the idea of transferring ore.. doing massive ore transfers, 10k, 20k ++.. in a station like pel with multiple entrances and exits can be a lot of pain.. taking hours to move ore after spending days moving ore there to begin with.
buying and selling to a station doesnt fly really.. the seller tanks the value and gets almost nothing, then the buyer pays a premium to the station. theres no incentive to sell it. additionally, stations see ore as common through rare and assigning values as such.. meanwhile.. it takes just as long to mine "rare" ore as it does to mine "common" ore.. and a lot of us charge a flat rate for ore by the volume and mine it on location. there are very few scenarios where you need to mine ore in a remote location and haul it a great distance. its all basically worth the same.. give or take.
