I think capital ships could have some usage being able to jump into relatively "colder" stars. Imagine if you could take a Goliath into those kinds of sectors, maybe add a special resource/bot that can only be found in stars. Make such sectors permanent "plasma storms." Exceedingly hot, that would instantly pop a ship that isn't shielded because the radiation and heat. Shields should be able to easily handle those kinds of conditions. If not, maybe add a special shield slot to cappies?
With a specialized "radiation-thermal shielding" modification? The star in unknow system is probably a red giant, so it SHOULD be relatively colder then others in game.

Yeah, I already have a ton of long-standing design around a similar concept, although it won't be stars. It's part of why shields are a thing. But, thanks :).
