Visible Surveillance
Most of Nation Space is "Monitored," but it doesn't really feel that way when you're in there. Outside of station sectors the government has no presence unless the Strike Force is after you. To remedy this, I propose that all Monitored sectors should have an array of surveillance drones placed in them belonging to the monitoring faction.
These are just an aesthetic/atmospheric feature meant to help distinguish nationspace from greyspace, not something intended to have any real functionality, so they don't really have to be able to do anything beside sit there "watching" the sector. That said, it might be neat if they announce on sector-chat when a ship hated by their faction shows up, announce local infractions, and perhaps PM anybody who enters the sector with information about any recent nearby hostilities. They could also send stern warnings about the consequences of tampering with official equipment if you approach too close to the actual drones. They could even have some minor weapons to defend themselves with if attacked, but they shouldn't be well armed or aggressive. Their primary defense is the faction hit you'd take for attacking them.
But anyway, those details are just gravy. The meat of the suggestion is simply to add a physical faction presence to each monitored sector to make the monitoring feel a little more real.

You mean like UIT Observers or Serco/Itani Observers? And they buzz by players on occasion the way Milinar Observers do in Odia or Sedina hive sectors?
I've always wondered what those Observers are doing anyway... always creepin' and peepin' at you.
I wonder if these could be used to scan for "contraband" (like Serco Ale or Bethashee Spices in Itani space, etc.)?

It might be cool to see more individual npc traffic in nation space too. I'm thinking of the old Atlas traders, but add in a greater variety of ships, revs, ec's, centaurs, maybe the occasional mk1 behemoth trying it's luck unescorted staying in nation space. Maybe add in some random bots mining random rocks near stations and worm holes.
