Large logistics ship
I was thinking of a ship that is twice as large as the TPG Constellations you see flying around in cap sectors. This ship will be able to move large fleets through temporary wormholes. The captain of the ship chooses a sector. After that, a 3D version of the jump portal will spawn, with the ship glowing white and forming into a ball. A large blue sphere will expand form the ship for 3000 meters, warping every player ship in the bubble to the destination. There will be obvious limits, like expensive costs, or fuel, or simply a range of, say 6 systems. Both sides would have to be empty, and a wormhole icon will appear in both sectors as the color of the captain’s nation. A dotted line of the same color should also connect the systems in the universe map. Just a thought.
Edit: if this ever becomes a thing, we need an XLLS, 3 times the size of a HAC.

I've kicked around ideas like this for a number of years, basically the notion of adding another "layer" to movement in the galaxy.
I'm not big on the inherent "grind" of forcing someone to spend a ton of time going from place-to-place, but.. the delivery-based economy is also important to retain.
I think there might be more value to something like this with a further expanded galaxy, which is something we eventually intend (the single new system is to bring that process up to date, not to just.. add one system only). At some point, there may be barriers that will make traveling (in an expanded galaxy) more challenging, as well as greater distances, where additional jump-ships like you describe may be needed (fulfilling roles along like lines of Dune's guild heighliners, or the terrestrial example of a heavy lift cargo ship).
But, there would be challenges to balancing such things properly. Lots of limiting factors, etc.
In the current game galaxy, I think it's better to just allow people to teleport between capitols (just their consciousness, no ship or cargo), to allow people a more rapid "fast action" experience, and enable better participation in Deneb.
