Nation War / Guild War Event (automated)
I propose we create a similar automated event for the nation war event and / or create one for a special Guild War. Similar to the automated Corporate Sector Run, you could take a mission prior to the event.
In the guild war instance guilds would have groups of their pilots taking the same mission. Charge a participation fee (per pilot or per guild when taking mission) and give the prize money to the winning survivors of whichever guild wins. Make the mission so guilds are aware that only one guild can win and as an event all previous agreements / wars / alliances dont matter as only one guild can win each week.
As nation war im sure certain people would team up but ultimately only one can win!
Leaving the sector ends the mission and attacking before the mission begins is a DQ as well.
Not sure if you let unguilded people participate as individuals or as a group of unguilded people or perhaps even let them join other guild groups.
Thoughts folks? Where would be a good location (lost tube station?)

If by "only one can win" you meant "only one nation can win," then sure. Because you can definitely have more than one person win Nation War -- it's a last-team-standing event, not a last-man-standing event. The prize is split by the surviving members of the winning team.

I'm open to things like this, but I would also need hyper-specific input on exactly how it should work. There's a lot of "devil is in the details" with these Event structures, and the design has to be really robust for it to hold up as an automated system.. there's no moderator to say "you're not playing fairly" or whatever.
+1
-Hold it in Sedina D-2, traditional NW sector
-Players are placed by nation when joining the mission into their groups, costs entrance fee (1mil?)
-Players outside the sector at the start time are kicked from the group
-Players that are not in the mission but are in the sector are attacked by turrets/strike force, unless they take a spectator mission/are in an unarmed EC? Maybe just missile turrets? Maybe not allowed in at all? This is the hardest part of Nationwar - interference from people that aren't participating.
-Players that die are removed from the group and cannot return except in spectator mission/unarmed EC, same rules as above.
-Players only allowed to participate in non-capital ships (? maybe allow caps? not sure, the way we used to do it was only allow caps if all sides could field one)
-Doing too much damage to your teammates gets you ejected from the team, ideally
-Prize money (sum of entrance fees) distributed to surviving members of winning nation.
There are some discussion points here - how can interference from non-participants be mitigated? Should capital ships be permitted? What should the entrance fee be?

People also need to be kicked from their team if they leave the sector or stray too far from the sector center, and there should be a warning as you near that limit.
A 1M entry fee might be too high. To make it more accessible to new players, maybe there should be an option between a 100k and 1M entry fee. When it's time to distribute the prizes, the percentage of the pot that each survivor gets would be calculated by dividing each individual's contribution by the total contributed by all survivors. So for example, if four people survived and two only paid 100k each while the other two paid 1M each, then the first two would each receive 4.55% of the pot, while the other two would each get 45.5%.
Or it could just be "Sponsored by TPG" and not have an entrance fee.
