There needs to be some minimum radar when undocked, say 500m or so.

At present, the user is completely radarblinded. This prevents targeting anything, seeing any HUD radar elements including cargo, and disables any radar notification that you're being shot, effectively crippling any defense.

This workaround for stationary users needs to be rethought, and either improved or removed. Hacky solutions don't really do much for the long term except introducing more spaghetti code.

Note that I am not asking for any radar to be granted while docked, this is purely while undocked and flying.

You have to sit around undocked for a pretty long period of time, combined with other behavioral heuristics, to have this happen.

Most people have been playing just fine, for quite a long time, with this in place.

Maybe consider docking, if you go afk?
