Latos Unrats

Dec 16, 2019 NC-Crusader link
I understand what you are trying to do with the more powerful Unrats in Latos on Saturday, but the cost in ships and time for the group it takes to kill the Unrats is not worth the rewards that are received for the kill.

I suggest a large increase in the rewards or dropping the number and power of the ships to where groups will be willing to go after them. They were not killed last weekend, I believe, and have not been killed this weekend.

We do have some that can and will group up and take them out if the rewards are there.

I love fighting the Trident version unrats and I do not need anybody’s help to do so solo.

The Connie version unrats requires a team effort, and no-one seems to want to work together on this Latos version of the unrats. Some “real life game play styles” prevents some “enemies” from working together.

I think it would be way more fun to put a small fleet of Tridents and Goliaths, (2 or 3? / 4 or 5?), in the Latos unrat Capitol ship sector instead of the lone Connie.

"I suggest a large increase in the rewards " kind of +1 to this

"The Connie version unrats requires a team effort, and no-one seems to want to work together on this Latos version of the unrats. "

The Latos unrats have been improved in some ways, and have been made easier in other ways. They are actually EASIER to solo than they were before. When I say solo, i mean one person i the sector, with no addition players/alts.

Those of us who can kill them, have decided not to, because the chaos they cause is a positive. Also we have been testing to see if waiting in killing them results in a larger payout.

It is much, much more likely that the rare items will be dropped by the Unrat Constellation in Latos. Anyway, input noted.

Interesting. But, is that also so you could potentially solo them? We should probably have at least some goals that are not "solo" targets.

It doesn't.

I do plan to "scale" them eventually, but then there will likely be a change in the actual ship (like changing from a Trident to a Constellation) to indicate a change in drops.

Several of you have noted or commented on the fact that I've been sitting in the sector, watching and poking at it in different ways to see how it/they act and react. Over several weekends I've witnessed the Latos unrat being killed (and occasionally participated in, or supported with capship r/r as requested.) I've seen people using different techniques and I know the connie unrat can be soloed without the use of a cap ship. It's HARD but not impossible.

The escort behavior seems to have been adjusted by the devs, although I'm torn about whether it was for the better or not.

I also know that I'm a big fan of not killing it and letting it sit and disrupt the trade-lanes and warvoys.

My advice to Inc is to let it actually affect the economy and stations the longer it sits. I don't believe stations run out of resources if they don't receive their convoys or not, but they should. Having stations run out of swarms or ammo might encourage people to posse up.

Oh, and I know the Constellation is guilty of only dropping flowers, all too often.

Guess the pirate king loves his posies.
