Suggest Not Adding Avalon Safety
As an FYI, I've actually been considering doing this to Avalons for years, combined with some kind of "arming safety" that would basically require them to be fired from a distance.
-incarnate
Being able to kamikaze and/or otherwise utilize avalons in close proximity is fun. Please don't take this away.

I'm aware of the tradeoff. Thanks for the feedback.
I agree with greenwall on this. It is fun.
+1 to suicide Avalons I like blowing myself up
+1 restricting the usage of the age old bombing weapon would be a big sad
Right, I'm sure you all do. But, this was taken out of context from a sidebar comment about another subject, where I was talking about historical plans for a different system that had a more complex defensive mechanic / capability.
This is not something currently slated for development, and even if it was, what I wrote was not the entirety of how all things would be approached.
This is also why I'm reluctant to ever talk about the future, because unless I write a wholly-encompassing 10-page treatise of all the ramifications of all changes, and all potential balance and mitigation factors, then someone is going to freak out and start posting about how terrible some myopic part of something will be.
I know that unguided ramming is fun in VO. I literally invented it. It was not an "accident". Chill out.
