Deflate gunner size

Sep 28, 2019 -Wash- link
currently gunners joining by invite take up more cargo space than an ec. Can we at least make the equal or move into a slight realm of reality where they take up say 25cu.

What CU space do they currently occupy? 200? 250? Either those gunners are very big, or they like to travel with a lot of luggage.

250 i believe. More than EC I think. They must be giants.

so you want a capship full of bots and all your cargo space ?

No. He wants gunners not to take up space.

I believed this was wrong when I first read it, so I logged on and proved it wrong.

A gunner does not take up any space unless he docks with the Capship to become a gunner, then his ship takes up space.

I loaded my Dent with 800cu (max capacity) and then invited a gunner. Gunner accepted. I tried unloading ship and then reloading 800cu with a gunner in place and got full 800 loaded. I then flew around and to Latos to unload. At no time did it show my ship was overloaded.

I also flew out with gunner and empty cargo. I stopped at a station and had another character drop 798 cu worth of Hulls which I loaded into Dent with the gunner in place in turret.

NC-Crusader,

1) Invite 4 gunners to your dent in a station.
2) Undock
3) Now have someone else try to dock with your empty dent. Guess what, they can't. Because gunners take up space.

Yes, you still have the 800cu for carrying cargo, but no one can dock with your empty dent.

This is what Wash made this thread about.

You know how Incarnate is always telling us to state the actual problem we're trying to solve so we don't waste his time? This is what he's talking about. The problem you're trying to fix is an inability for people to dock with your ship while it's filled with gunners. Instead of explaining that, you posted inaccurate information about gunners being treated as cargo and made no mention of docking. It's no wonder somebody misunderstood; I'd have made the same error if I'd tried investigating this. Instead of being frustrated with Crusader's lack of mind-reading powers, we should be happy that he forced the issue to be clarified before dev time could be wasted trying to sort out what was really being asked.

+1 by the way.

Thank you.

Uhh, I have a lot on my mind every given week, and you and I haven't talked about anything for months. It's usually best to be specific about the respective issue.
