Jump in damage
You know when you jump into a sector and there is that long particle stream directly in front of you? It would be kind of cool of that stream of particles damaged anything it touched. No factional issues mind you, because the damage would be just a mechanism of jumping.
+1 Bring back warp kills
yoda, i'd be interested in seeing the old style. It was before my time. Having the sector to sector jump being different than the system to system wh jump would add something to the game.

I definitely want a different effect for jump vs wormhole. The fact that we use both was simply a rapid-development decision when we had issues with jump killing at the time. It was never really "properly updated", like a number of these kinds of "zero-time fixes", but it has been on a TODO list for a long time.
I'm not thrilled about bringing back jump-killing. I think there are enough ways for newbies to be slaughtered (or accidentally kill someone else, and tank their standings), without adding more accident and manipulation-prone mechanics.
I don't think it actually adds enough to outweigh the hassle-factor it gives to us (administratively, for instance). But, feel free to continue discussing, I'm not going to rule anything out entirely, there might be particular cases where something like jump-collision is more appropriate.
