speciality mining beams
the speciality mining beams ..helio denic etc claim to give a 200% 300% or whatever boost
but in actual fact give not even close to those figures and as such no-one uses them
once they can get HD beams
alter the stats so that they do in fact give what they promise
If necisary raise the licence needed to obtain them to compensate

Mind sharing the math to prove this?

I don't pretend to understand the math and it is not important anyway
the speciality mining beams are more or less useless as they are
I just thought it might be low hanging fruit for the devs

Dear Drevent,
Here's the easy way to demonstrate it and not killing yerself with maths:
pick up yer favorite x% helio roid x with 30<x%<80%
Day 1) get yer ship with yer helio beam(s), mine the roid, (don't jettison other ores) and note how much helio ye get after filling it up.
Day 2) replace the beam(s) by normal beam(s) (make sure to have the same numbers of beams) and repeat mining the same roid that should have cooled down by then, and note the helio ye get.
repeat Day 1 ad Day2 at least 5 times to get some valid stats.
Hint: use a ship with big cargo space to be more accurate.
Compare results and If they are not matching what you were expecting, open a support ticket and provide the data.
Then, pay 5millions to yer beloved Capt'N Blood's miner orphans fund for providing ye very good ideas to entertain yer week.
