Not sure how exactly it changed, but the Hive Queen escorts used to shoot at anyone who got close. Made for much more entertaining play and certainly made more sense than the sitting ducks we currently have. Could the aggressive escorts please be brought back?

In my experience some escorts are aggressive and some are not.

That had been the case for a good while, but lately its been always a docile escort, at least in the nation capitol systems.

Why? I remember having to eat away the escorts before finally popping the queen. So i can just go in and kill the queen all nonchalant now?

Huh. Well, if they're being docile again, it's a bug. We'll look into it. Maybe an unforeseen orthogonal issue from another change.

The escorts have been 99.99% docile for over six months or so....

Maybe one out of 1,000 escort bots will start shooting after it's been hit.

Well, I've only been aware of it since this thread started, and we haven't had time to look into it yet. There have been other external mandates on time, like Google banning 32bit apps in August.

Anyway, that sucks, we specifically tried to make this work last year, I had no idea it had stopped working for so long. We'll look into it.

Also next version of MacOS is 64bit only too.

Until Incarnate can fix this, you can shoot the queen first. If 2 queens, shoot the lead queen. You will have hostile bots.

This should be fixed as of tonight, please let us know if it isn't.

They don't "shoot at anyone who gets close", but they will correctly aggro on anyone who attacks the Queen, or attacks them respectively.

We may eventually make them aggro purely on distance to the Queen, but not yet.

"unforeseen orthogonal issue" will now be my favorite phrase for when a project fails. Just sayin'.

Still docile. Sometimes the bot you are shooting at will return fire, and maybe even chase you a little. The rest still just ignore you, even after you've made the kill and start firing on another one. No "hive mind" like activity at all. I easily wipe out the entire escort with a Hornet without having to leave for repair... and I'm not that good of a pilot...

Ugh. Okay, we'll take a look. We've been making a lot of AI tweaks lately, so it's possible something was unintentionally broken. We have test situations we monitor, to avoid that, but it's been tough to stay on top of all cases.

Friday, 1/17/20, escorts were hostile.
