So, no more braking in DB it sounds like?
Apparently. Which is a bummer, too.
From what it sounds like, it has to do with the features such as the "stop" button on android versions. This button is highly useful for slowing down 230k fully loaded XC's in order to dock. R.I.P, i guess.

-1. Besides DroidButtons, it would also break the ability to use plugins like A2D to control the brakes from axis-based controls like triggers or throttles.
Not worth it.

The normal android "stop" button would still work - this isn't made by a plugin - and as you can add buttons to move using droid buttons (using the systems inbuilt fields or something, which means it cannot toggle); I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be affected. I mean, if you can add a button for accelerate, then you should also be able to add a button for brake. I'm not 100% sure about that as I do not use DB, but yeah, I don't think anyone would want that particular plugin to break? So I guess that would need some consideration. Only my limited and often wrongly mis-guided opinion though, it wouldn't break them brakes.
As for using a2d, I hadn't thought about that either. I mean, why would I? What purpose would a brake on my triggers serve? No offence Rin, but do you actually have +brake bound to a trigger? Seems like a waste of a good button especially now we have a working multiclick built-in, but if that is the only thing that will actually break then I'm all for making you choose a better button for it. Pushing spotters out of range isn't something I'm actually interested in - I personally just shoot them - but I think it is more of a priority than 1 person with a mad control scheme that has better options. Losing the ability to control the brakes from a plugin is exactly the point.
Of course another option would be to change the way +brake works, and just cause the command to release on release. No idea if this is even possible with the current command structure so it may take way more devtime that it is actually worth. I suppose my entire point with all my replies to this thread was to actually move the blame away from Flight Assist though. A few threads are now asking for FA to be mutered, when in fact it is not even the problem. I do not really care either way what happens to spotter bots. How can fun follow me everywhere if nobody can find me?

I don't actually use a2d at all. I made it for the benefit of other people, and I don't deign to tell them whether or not their controls are as stupid as this thread is. I mean, what if they have an analog foot pedal they use in racing games that they want to bind to their ship's brake for some reason? Or one of those useless throttles like my joystick has that they'd like to use as a manual way to select between drift (centered), turbo (up), and brake (down)? Not that a2d can do that (maybe? been a while since I wrote it) but it would be easy to make a plugin that does.
How about instead of breaking game functionality to do a half-assed job of enhancing ship pushing (which the people they want to push will immediately work around with some trivial keypress injection tool like xdotool), y'all instead suggest an Inertial Inhibitor Blaster that would "temporarily scramble a ship's reference-frame acquisition software" rendering both brakes and FA-mode less functional for a few seconds? Then you could use it to push anyone (unless they directly oppose your push), as well as to mess with losers trying to use FA in a fight instead of learning how to fly. Oh, and you could lurk outside the station and grease people up when they're trying to dock with FA so they slide out of their turns like the noobs they are.
Fun for the whole family!

+1 to Pizza.. this is a fun idea.
You know what Rin? I like it! I like it more than any idea I've ever had! As I typed up that last post, I was thinking "huh, maybe I should just suggest tractor beams again!" , but the opposite sounds even more fun!
