The goliath nerf went slightly too far: 55 grid is not enough to equip a goliath for modern warfare. A small bump to 60 would allow the armament of one more non capital class weapon. This would open up much possible weapon combinations and drive more strategic gameplay.

+1, without goliaths my Chef Boyardee shipments dont come in...you wouldn't like me without chef boyardee. People die when i'm out of Chef Boyardee.

What more do you need? You already have the best in class acceleration (better than a dent). You can equip two capital turrets plus a weapon on front AND you maintain the use of the built in neut turret.

Also as Inc has pointed out capship combat has not officially been implemented so what type of warfare would require more grid?

While capship v capship combat has not been officially implemented, I use my Goliath in many warfare situations: defending conquerable stations, fighting bots, fending off pirates, and running trident blockades of wormholes.

I think most people agree that having 2 capital class weapons equipped is necessary when flying a Goliath. This forces the captain to choose between equipping the third turret vs. the large port. I don't think it would be too unbalanced to open up the ability to equip a firecracker turret or a powercell turret as well.

Then equip the the firecracker turret and give up the LP slot. You have plenty of choices. Choose your strategy carefully though.

Or give up the accelleration

I rather give up some acceleration in exchange for 4 grid power.

Just build a Trident, or use more non-capital options. We don't need a goliath with 60 grid and less acceleration.

So then a Goli mkII with same accl as dent and 4 more grid power seems to be in order
