Remove the "home space" requirement for beginner combat practice.
A lot of people probably do not know this, as they probably complete this mission before doing anything else when making a new character, but there is a restriction in-place that stops you from being able to complete beginner combat practice outside of nation space (even if the mission is taken outside of nation space).
People might say, so what Yoda? Well I will tell you what! :) I have known about the above restriction for a long time, but it is easy to forget about for the above mentioned reasons, well I decided to make a new character - not a troll char or anything like that - I simply wanted to get 100 PK's without dying. Anyway, short story shorter; I got myself a Revenent by doing the courier mission, and then decided the courier missions were a good way to start. During a couple of the longer missions that send you to the edges of monitored space I got my first two kills! Woo! Except not, as my now 1/1/-/2/- can no longer complete beginner combat. (Can take the mission at corvus, and can kill collectors in UiT space but they do not count to the mission tally - getting into Itani space isn't really an option with a light cell)
OK, so I could just delete this character and start again, in fact I probably will, but it got me thinking, why is this restriction there? Maybe to help to stop newbs from investigating too early, or something, not sure, but as it is a restriction nobody probably even knows about which probably means people generally are not doing what it is trying to prevent, is it even needed? I personally think not!

+1 seems relatively easy to implement, doesn't mess with game mechanics, and overall just seems like a harmless change, but i'd be interested in hearing Inc's thoughts.
+100
I suppose it's worth noting you can do the "Rogue Drones" tree in Odia for combat XP. It will get you to Combat 2. Then Intermediate Combat Practice becomes available.
Uhum, I have just flown to Odia M-14 with said character, and do not see this mission listed? Does it have any other requirements except level?
[edit]
Never mind, my bad - had the mission list set to trade. Point still stands though, this still seems like a silly unneeded restriction.

+1 it might allow for slightly faster standing recovery after hated or KoS
