Jump Tracking Spoofer
In response to the other thread regrading an add-on to affect jump tracking distance, I thought it could be turned around.
Instead of an add-on to improve jump tracking distance, why not a spoofer the runner could equip, given the trade off for fire power is less of an issue for the runner.
Having a Jump Tracker Spoofer could reduce the tracking range of all other ships to say, 500m or something (values subject to discussion/change/etc).

I'd be all for this, if it was not already easy enough once you get to 3000m to get away just using pure luck. See the problem currently is, all you need to do to escape is make the jump distance and keep warping through empty space until you either a) load faster than you attacker at least once or b) warp in over 1000m away so you can warp again without being followed.
a) cannot be fixed without adding an unfair delay to people who have better internet connections/better devices. and I do not think it should.
b) is where it matters, currently the proposed device would add literally nothing to the chase/evade game. I mean sure, it may make it possible to escape at a worm hole by being just out of range a little earlier, but most pirates get within firing range before a warp is possible or they lose the prey anyway (if you warp at 900m away it does not matter where you warp to, the pirate has to travel the 900m before they can follow, making a warp to empty = escape). Now if it was changed so when jumping from the same direction, the warp-in points were placed so we always warp to within 1000m of each other when warping at a similar time - this device would then make a lot of difference if equipped.
anyway -0, not against it, per-se, just do not see what it would add to the current mechanic.

this game has a longstanding need for more tracking tools, not more tools to evade tracking
