Make A 2.49$ 5/5/5/5/5 sub?
No cappies but can manu parts?
What would the advantage be for Guild?
A little more money each month. A bridge between Lite and Premium.
I have a couple light subs, I'd consider upping one or two to that myself.
However, if this is something that would eat significant dev time, then I'd be against the idea.

The advantage would be that people previously on a lite sub would be able to get a better tier of ships for just a bit more money.
The risk is that it might draw people away from the higher tier if they don't need the full experience, but it might also prevent people from dropping to lite or free when they go off of a full sub.
We've all seen the conversation:
Newbie: How much does a full subscription cost?
Community: $9.99/month.
Newbie: That's too expensive!
Community: Makes insane arguments about how it's cheaper if you buy in bulk ignoring the fact that somebody who won't spend $10 is not going to spend $100.
Newbie: Goes off the deep end.
Community: Berates newbie.
Unfortunately, I don't believe there's any monthly fee that mobile players will gleefully accept because it's such a foreign concept to the majority of the app market. It would be better to find ways that in-app purchases could be used to raise license levels for a period of time and stop trying to sell it as subscriptions but rather "booster packs" or something that matches the purchase model they are already accustomed to.

I like to try explaining it as adding "Premium time" to an account, and it comes in at least a set of a month for 10 dollars. While subscriptions aren't that big in the mobile space, premium time is, at least in cases like World of Tanks Blitz and similar games. I don't know if this helps new pilots decide to buy a month of sub, but I've much less often had to argue that a whole month for just 10 bucks is pretty fair. I do agree, this "Buy bulk for cheaper" isn't a good selling point to new pilots, only to those who already know they'll play the game for a while to come, though.

You know how the PC trial is 8 hours? And that is 8 hours of actual in game time? Maybe if there was an option to buy actual in game playing time that could be used whenever (that would not expire if the game was not active) . Just brainstorming here.
Thanks. These are the sorts of discussions that bring value to the Suggestions forum.
I think there would be a lot of value and a higher conversion rate if there was a "booster pack" option for $1 that would give full subscriber benefits for 3 days. It still works out to $10/month if they are persistent but it lowers the barrier to entry and allows people who might not otherwise convert to pay for elevated levels in a smaller time block that is more representative of the time a mobile player might play VO.
My first reaction to Savet's suggestion is 'yea that should work because math'.
However I'm not sure that's correct, and here's why.
I figure that some people, a small minority will buy the 1 dollar booster once in a while. A few more will buy it on Friday for the weekend, maybe 3 weekends a month.
The problem I see is that people tend to be VERY good at optimizing things. Why bother subbing at all? It would presumably take one a minute or two to buy a 1 dollar booster. What incentive is there then not to wait until you actually plan to play to pay up?
I think what would happen is an actual decrease in revenue from too many people saying 'I've only got an hour tonight, and I will probably be too busy tomorrow, I'll just wait till day after and then spend my dollar'.
A seperate issue is that months do not all have 30 days, some have 31, and February has 28 or 29.
There could be some value in marketing the subscription as a 'booster pack' or whatever. About that my knowledge is vanishingly small, bordering on non-existent. I still use a damn flip phone.
Perhaps when on a lite sub you should be able to increase your license levels to whatever, but anything requiring over 4/4/4/4/4 would cost A LOT of crystal. I do not know how much, but enough to make up for the lost revenue from the price difference.

I think Savet is on to something here. However, to combat the potential subscriber loss described by LNH, the price should be increased.
How about $3 for a 3 day booster pack. That disincentives people from un-subbing and only running off booster packs. Yet, $3 (or $2.99 to make it market-savvy) is still a much lower barrier of entry for most people.
Perhaps we could even implement a tiered system (e.g., $1.50 for 1 day, $3 for 3 days, $5 for a week, $10 for a month, etc etc)?

That's a nice idea, pay $1.50 and stock up on a couple of dozen corvults equipped with AAPB's to last me for the next few months.
You can currently buy an hour of unrestricted play for $12 per hour, with a bonus of free remainder of the month with purchase of an hour.
I think that is a hell of a bonus.
People that have money, will spend it. People that don't, won't.
There should defiantly (definitely (dam spell checker)) be an in game option to purchase that hour with the remainder of the month bonus.
