A couple Deneb improvements:
I don’t know how hard these would be to implement; actually I assume quite hard due to how the game is setup, but these couple tweaks would make Deneb much better.
Currently when the sector is reset (after the last player leaves a sector) the sector is reset to its starting configuration. Example of why this is bad: Lets say a Serco Terradon is pounding away on an Itani HAC. The HAC has no shields and is a flaming wreck at 25% health. There is an Itani player in sector, and he doesn’t want the HAC to die. All he has to do, is leave the sector for a minute. When he comes back, all the ships are in their starting positions.
That example is similar to having your opponents king in check (in chess), and then suddenly moving all the remaining pieces for both players back into their starting positions. You might still win the match, but then again you might not. Any advantage you had was just lost due to the board reset.
Suggestion 1: Ideally all the ships in the sector should stay in the positions they were left at when the sector goes idle.
Another issue is that when the sector is left inactive for about 5 minutes or so, the shields come back on all ships. That means the HAC in my example, gets to go back to shields 100%. So all ships go back to to their starting positions with 100% shields. This means that players who don’t like the situation in a Deneb battle, can just reset the battle, and try again.
Suggestion 2: Don’t reshield ships in a Deneb battle if the sector is inactive. Or at least wait a longer period of time (1 hour would be fine).
