Since Inc is planning to include more tenor into the chat system, why not also change up the chat system a bit, by introducing an interface option to change the chat from check boxes to tabs. The idea behind this is to create a more singular system for specific chats, meaning that when you click on a chat tab, it only shows messages from that specific chat, with the exception of an [ALL] tab, which functions as the chat currently does, showing all the messages from various channels.

For example, at the top of the menu interface
[ALL] [GLOBAL] [SECTOR] [GROUP] [GUILD] [SYSTEM]

Where each tab shows only the respective channels, compared to the current:
○Channel ○Sector ○Group ●Guild ○System
Even though guild is checked, it'll still show everything from all the channels

Yes. I would also like to suggest that we be able to make custom tabs that monitor designated channels of our choosing. Maybe 10 or so that we can set up.

+1 to both OP and peytros. Seems like a much more robust and customizable chat system.

+1. I really like having everything merged together so I don't have to track a million tabs, but there are times when tabs would be handy.

+1 I like this idea and, although there's a plugin that does something close, it doesn't have integrated tabs. That would be extremely useful.

But I would still like the opportunity to have one tab show multiple channels the way #100 already does, but with an option to make particular channels *quiet* so it only shows up in the tab. That way you can choose to have guild chat show up on your main chat window, etc.

But new messages should change the appearance of the tab somehow so you know to check it when you have the chance.
