Option to disable Hit Sound
Sometimes I'm PCBing a cap ship and the constant beeps are really annoying and irritating. I want an option that disables this hit beep sound.
While an option would be nice, you can currently do this with the "deboop" plugin currently. Replace both audio files with silence and the boops are gone.
I'm still trying to figure out how to do the reverse, truthfully; how to blare warning noises when you either take any damage after a period of inactivity, or where an attack takes a big chunk out very rapidly. But thats a discussion for community projects ;)

I want to be able to turn it off and on quickly without having to modify my game files :/

While we all can empathize with repetitive annoying sounds, there is a quicker solution. You'll find it on most keyboards: the mute key.

Yeah usually I just pull out my headphones but then I can't hear anything and such an option would be nice to have in general.
I dunno if you can toggle the plugin, as its currently written; i think its over-writing the hitsound when the game loads [as far as the comments in the code seem to lead me to believe]. Such a thing would have to be implemented in the game itself, unless you can overwrite it at any time? Ill have to toy with it...
+1 to an option - it can be done with plugins, this is great! especially because you can replace it, but an option for this should happen - when I was new I thought there was something wrong with my speakers or my headset, I looked for ages to turn off the beep too as it annoyed others in my house when not using headphones.
