A change to sheild turrets.
Currently, shield turrets are basically useless. You can make cool light shows with them. If you are really careful you can interrupt a swarm stack with them, sometimes.
So I suggest that they be added to ALL Purchased turrets, not the built in neutron mk2 turret, as a secondary fire.
I know it wouldn't be super useful without significant practice, but neither are advanced railguns. Hopefully the fact that you 'have them anyway and might as well fire them' will cause people to find uses for them, other then to harass people afk mining.

so the secondary trigger when using urtrets is to fire a shield? I am not sure how I feel about that.
On the one hand, it'd be nice to see them used, but it'd make destroying turrets a game of outfiring the turret [also assuming player capship turrets are ever set to perma-till-repaired-destructible or whatnot], which... I'm not for that.

This might be neat as a sometimes thing, but probably not as a universal addition.
I use shield turrets for Swarm Farming with a Behemoth. They've saved me numerous times. They even stop the Leviathan's Capital Gauss!
Not particularly useful against players, however.
