description: A prototype positron blaster from corvus, this illegally modified axia accelerated positron blaster utilizes a samoflange core to overcharge the normal power unit resulting in a highly unstable weapon. Early testing has been catastrophic and in some instances fatal, nevertheless this weapon is a favorite amongst daring pilots looking for the increased fire power and the latest in blaster technology.
This is my suggestion for a small port megaposi to make up for the the fact the greyhound lost its energy interceptor ability. it does weigh 100 more than a standard mega posi but I think for the sake of balance it needs to be heavier than the other small port positrons since it does 250 more damage than them (thats the point of the samoflange core lore wise) and it can be used on all sorts of light fighters that do not have the the more sluggish characteristics of heavier ships with large ports. it does 235 less DPS then a mega posi and I split the difference on the delay between the AAP and the mega.
EDIT: Changed pvp veteran 1 to pvp specialist . Changed weight from 600 to 650. Changed grid to 8 so no more than 2 can be equipped on any ship. Added price. Changed price to 600,000 since people were worried about it being resold for cheap.

Lower the licenses levels to the 6s range or so though

Licences can stay where they are. A weapon like that needs to be earned.

mass is too low, harder hitting weapons need a trade off of mass.. suggest 700 also given samo is the heaviest element, it makes sense.
This should be a rare drop. Someone with the badge could easily purchase loads of these and make them available to everyone. Hence eliminating the need of licenses or badges, as in the case of caprails or the adv scanner.
IMO it's a suitable drop from the NPC rat dent. Currently those only drop manufacturing items which are not worth much to someone who doesn't manufacture. I'm aware they could sell those items but this weapon is obviously more valuable than FFSSA or FCP to a combat pilot.

I agree, not only should this be a drop and require more weight, but... why does it have targetting above standard positron? [Good makes me think of a gauss swivel radius]. Are you sure about that?
pvp vetran 1-3 already have weapon reward unlocks. go up to the next one pvp specialist 1
@arkyo @luxen it shouldn't be a drop, the point is to give the hound back its energy interceptor ability while also being somewhat hard to acquire due to its nature, gauss targeting is rated as "excellent" on the wiki, all positrons, including megaposi, are rated as having good targeting.
@wash i like your idea of it being a reward for pvp specialist 1 I will update the initial suggestion to reflect that.

This is a good idea. But no weapon in VO is ship specifically made for. This should be balanced. Not greyhound specified.
I'd push the grid up to 6 just to go along with the RP value of "overcharged" ie. it's a power-hungry piece of tech.
@peytros you could as well drop the badge and license requirements then. People could always get someone to buy it for them and equip it in M-7 or any of the conquerable stations.
The dent doesn't need to drop only 1 or 2 very rarely, but it ensures that people don't get easy access to something as OP as this and also provides incentive for more NPC dent killing for non-manufacturing oriented players.

@arkyko it's not OP though, those stats are pretty balanced with what the weapon is, I upped the weight to be 150 over what a normal megaposi is while reducing the damage, it is high end but its not nearly the same as just making the regular megaposi a small port weapon, and the megaposi only requires killing 10 queens.
"you might as well drop the badge and license requirements"
1) you cannot equip weapons you do not have the licenses for 2) people can sell you any weapon that has a badge requirement as long as you meet the license level.
the high license levels will keep it sufficiently uncommon

But you can equip items you dont have the liscence for; take it to a conquerable station or the capital shipyards. Liscence requirements for all equipment are bypassed there.
Good is the standard? Wierd, but, cool. Im okay-enough with it being purchaseable if its like that.
As for pvp badge, is there any chance you'd do with one of the duelist badges instead? I'm fine with either, but it'd be nice to push dueling with a reward.
Pushing up the grid value does sound like a good idea

@luxen I think the dueling badge would be a good idea for a different weapon, due to it being a corvus weapon the pvp badge implies some level of non-consensual combat that goes well with the shady corvus theme
ok i changed stuff up in the initial suggestion to reflect player and developer feed back, I think this would satisfy 90 percent of the people who had suggestions to modify its stats.
