Let Corvus sell Superlights at +1000
The Superlight is currently a prototype but Corvus gives one to the player after you earned their trust so I thought we should be able to just buy them from Corvus once we have a lot of trust, meaning we have Pillar of Society (+1000 Standing with Corvus). The price could be 50k.
I like the Superlight a lot but I rarely fly it because it's not worth it to go all the trouble of manufacturing to just simply die and lose all my hard work. I think if capships get insurance and aren't lost upon destruction their shouldn't be a reason against making a tiny fighter ship available for purchase. I don't think it makes much sense that a small fighter is more valuable than a huge capship and needs to be rebuild every time it gets destroyed, which happens more often than cap ships being destroyed as well. The mission tree should still be required to unlock it in the first place.

Maybe we should be able to buy the Corvus Widowmaker at +1000 too.
I am against this for a few reasons.
1) The Superlight is super easy to manufacture. So you should have very little trouble replacing them
2) It is very difficult to tank Corvus standing. Unless someone fails a trade mission, they will never become less than +1000 with Corvus once they reach that standing.
3) A capital ship requires FAR more resources to manufacture than a superlight. Superlight's are basically bic lighters compared to capital ships. I don't know why you consider a superlight more valuable than a capital ship, but since you do, you must never have manufactured anything before.
4) If you lose lots of superlights so easily, well in the words of a famous VO developer: "Get good".
Well people die in pews, duh. Also I consider it more valuable than the goli in the sense that you can't buy a new one for a fixed price like the goli. And having to manufacture a fighter means a lot because you can't just die and instantly buy a new one and fight with the same ship again. I just think that small fighters don't go very well with the concept of manufacturing, it should be cap ship exclusive. The Superlight isn't a bad ship but people just never use them because of this unnecessary barrier of manufacturing them. I think getting to +1000 which requires hauling just like manufacturing could be seen as taking the trips to bring all the resources to a Corvus station.
I disagree. I think of the superlight like a kit car. Something you build in your garage for funies. Anyways, i suggest you build the ships in bulk, instead of one at a time. Frankly, most the things that are manufactured in this game are smaller than a capship. (Furies, power cells, capship parts, cwm, Improved Mineral Scanner, Concussion Railgun, TU mine, Light Repair Turret, FireCracker Turret, Neut III turret). What we need is MORE manufactured ships, not less. More ships being manued, means more parts moving through space, which means more opportunities for organic combat.

I hate the whole idea of manufacturing combat related stuff. If someone likes PvP a lot chances are that they don't enjoy hauling and mining as much and so it will turn potential nice items and ships into dust collectors like the conrails. And people that actually enjoy manufacturing usually don't like PvP so I don't see why a system like this exists. It's understandable for cap ships but not for every day fighting equipment that is meant to be easily replaceable because you usually die and need a lot of them.
They aren’t everyday fighting items, that’s the whole point. These are supposed rare items that are difficult to obtain. The system exists to keep them in check. If it’s not worth the work to build them then they are not that important to you. These are that items that encourage player to player trading and sales. There nothing that says you have to use these items but if you want them you are going to have to build or buy them from other players. If you just want to be able to buy everything then get your credit card out and go play Eve and buy to your hearts content.

So, it turns out there was a recent invention that solves your conundrum. It's called trade. Of course, this would be easier if we could drop ships as items, but there's nothing stopping you from buying an SL kit from another player and then just doing the final assembly stage yourself.

For whatever reason, there seem to be people that want to make VO into an arena game rather than the intended social experience it is. If you don't like manufacturing, then make a friend and pay them to manu the things. Or fly something else.
Hell, I'll sell you an SL kit if you want one. Of course I think you're a dick, so I'm going to charge you extra. :)
