Missiles should break lock once they are beyond radar range
Homing missiles should break lock once they are beyond radar range. If a pilot wants to extend radar range of their missiles (in storms or cloudy sectors such as Pel c-12), then they should need a partner in a group equipped with a group sharing radar extender.
It makes zero sense that a throw away weapon would have a better radar than any ship in the game.

This sounds like a suggestion to hover at 2000m waiting for the opponent to fire their arsenal and bounce in and out of range. As much as I don't like to hear the beeps, and the missile may be out of range, tactically this is not making sense, especially when it comes to stacking on capships. As it is already, jumping out of the cap ship loses lock thanks to a bug in how capships have been implemented.

Out of range.. for whom? The missile, or the ship firing it?
I generally assume the missile has its own autonomous tracking capabilities, that are independent of the ship, once locked and fired.

C-12 & M-7 have limited radar range for ships. The suggestion is that the limit should also be enforced on the missiles as well.
Example: a guided missile is shot at a target in M-7. If the target can get 500 meters from the missiles the lock should be lost.

I no problem with the autonomous tracking capabilities, but say i'm in Pelatus C-12, and someone fires swarms at me. I turbo away from the missle. I'm now beyond 500 meters (or whatever the max radar range is in cloudy sectors), In this case the missile should break lock. I should not still be hearing beeps. Those missiles should stay on whatever path they were last on.
Secondary thought to this, if I happen to fly within their radar range (after breaking lock), and they still have fuel, they should reacquire lock on me.
Yes and no......
If the target remains on the shooters radar remote guidance is still valid.
So If the target is too far from both the shooter and the missile then target lock should be lost.
Group radar should apply to both shooter and missile.
This would require adding a radar range spec to each missile with better missiles having a longer range.
