Small asteroids and Debris
Quoting We All Float:
I bet once the major update comes in 2019, that all infini roids will disappear anyways.
Asteroids below a certain threshold [and above the infinimining limit] are all converted to Asteroid Debris, though mineral content tags remain.
Asteroid debris particles can be mined for minerals based on its parent asteroid field's stats [I'm talking about the average set of asteroids in the field this particular debris is a member of], but on top of heating up the mineral content of that debris chunk it also explodes after hitting a certain temperature [200k?]. Nonphysical weapon fire [like neutron blasters] can also heat asteroid debris.
Explosion of asteroid debris hits a 100m radius and does moderate damage to nearby ships.
furthermore, any asteroid or debris above 50k produces an "outgassing" effect [dependent on graphics settings]. I remember Incarnate had been trying to create some kind of fog mechanic - is that showing any fruition yet?
