Disband Guild Before It's Fully Formed
Currently we have to wait all 48 hours after creating a new guild and can't disband it on our own and are forced to stay in it.
I want to be able to disband my own guild whenever I want, especially when I'm the only person in that guild.

-1. Think of this as a cooldown timer preventing people from creating a guild, spamming everybody with invites, then disbanding and repeating the process over and over and over in a short period of time.
awww Rin, we will miss all those cool guilds [8=D] ,[(;)],[(V)],[o_x],[-_-],[TURD],[STEK],[SNAK],[SPAM] etc..
We have methods in place to prevent spamming, Rin's concerns are moot. It's a greater headache to have to wait 48 hours to disband a guild if you decided to change your mind, or made a mistake in the creation. I see no good reason to keep the 48 hour limit.
@Pizzasgood
If spam is your concern it would be the best to keep the 48 hours but instead of preventing someone to disband a guild it should prevent making a new guild within 48 hours.

Guild creation should be more then a whimsical moment. A long cool down is very much warrented.

"We have methods in place to prevent spamming,"
Do you mean that /ignore and /vote mute block /guild invite? That would reduce my spam concern for sure.

If somebody is changing their mind that quickly, then they have no business creating and commanding a guild in the first place. Making a guild is a commitment.
Counterproposal: add a confirmation message to /guild create. In addition to giving a preview of the guild tag and name for error detection purposes, it should also include a notice that if the player proceeds with creating the guild, they'll be entering a 48 hour period during which time they'll be unable to create or join other guilds.

+1 to a confirmation And a warning message when creating a guild. I would actually limit it to once per week as well.

How you play the game does not dictate how others play the game. In case you haven't noticed IN THE LAST 14 YEARS, there has been a prevalence of making guilds that aren't of any serious nature whatsoever (several of which YOU, Rin, have been a member) and require zero commitment of its creators and members; and this has been done largely to the benefit of VO gameplay. I fully reject this arbitrary and ultra-conservative viewpoint on retaining the 48-hour hold.
Unless someone chimes in as to why it was enacted in the first place (and how that reason is still relevent today), it strikes me as an fully arbitrary and outdated restriction that hinders player interaction.

I didn't say that guilds should be serious. There's nothing wrong with a loose group of friends and/or friendly rivals making a silly guild to have a bit of camaraderie for a few weeks or months. What I'm saying is that when you create a guild, you're making something that is supposed to last more than just a couple hours. Brief, temporary groupings are what /group is for. Guilds exist for longer-term associations. That's why guilds get to lock down unique tags, names, and spots on the website, whereas groups do not. (Though I would argue in favor of allowing groups to secure temporary tags of some sort, as that would be very helpful for team events.)
The requirement of finding 8 other founding members within a 48 hour period is completely sufficient in proving the commitment to making something that lasts more than a couple hours. Penalizing for backing out of the commitment is excessive and arbitrary.
There is simply no game-benefitting reason that someone should be penalized (by waiting 48 hours) if they had a change of heart about their guild and want to pull out and join up or create another.

Guilds are supposed to be long-term constructs with solid intent and organization behind them. Even if that's a silly group of friends, they're supposed to be organized enough to.. make a guild.
The only time I see complaints about this, they're from people who probably shouldn't have been trying to form a guild in the first place.
I don't remember exactly why the 48-hour thing is in there, but I think it may have been an implementation work-around with the idea of inviting players who were currently off-line, without having to generate more complex message-handling to then "cancel" invites and the like. It was not intended to "penalize" anyone, it isn't an "artificial" limit that was invented to be annoying.. I'm pretty sure it was actually relevant to the implementation at the time.
I don't specifically have a problem with removing the 48-hour thing, but I also don't care very much if it's in there?
It's probably easier to add a confirmation and a warning message.
