Disassemble Goliath

Sep 30, 2018 BoneYard link
Since the Goliath has been nerfed and grid power reduced, I believe that there should be some way to take it apart where we can add the necessary components to it and build a Trident.

The Goliath when we built it has certain specs which made it appealing. Those specs have changed to the point that it is not as useful as it was to start with. I still love the speed, but without all the Cap Weapons that we had, it is now more subject to being destroyed.

This may not be what everyone with a Goli wants, but it should be an option for those of us who now wish we had built the Dent to start with and are not satisfied with the current nerfed layout.

You shouldn't get all parts back, that would be silly. Maybe a few components get destroyed during the reverse engineering?

I agree with BoneYard. Since the Goliath was built with certain expectations due to the specs at that time, I see no reason all the parts put into should not be recovered. The mission for this could be put up for a set period of time to give the existing Owners a chance to Disassemble and get all the parts back and then changed to where you only get most of the parts back. I believe a 30 day period from time it is posted would be fair. That way future players could not build a Goli and then use it to build up a parts and then disassemble and make the Trident.

There was a suggestion awhile ago to do this as an upgrade to the trident ship.
I would rather be able to buy and sell player owned ships instead.

This needs to be a generic solution, I do not consider it related to the goliath stat change. You will not get all parts back.

You should absolutely get back the part which required Samoflange, though.

I can understand not getting back the two EHAs, but the rest of the components seemed pretty generic and interchangeable.

It should be mostly random, so there would be a good chance you would receive high value parts such as the engine and MMCS back but with some random parts like the 80MW, MOS or a few MCAs missing, OR nearly all the parts and a single high value part missing.

Maybe not exactly how I said it, but the parts you receive shouldn't be fixed.

Loss of every thing but the main assemblies is rather severe as it is.....
I also don't think this is something that has a random nature to it.

I think there should also be a monitary cost as well for the labor needed to reclaim the parts.
