Increase vote mute requirements
5 votes for 30mins are currently very publicly abused, it is easy for one "side" to put together 5 votes to silence people as a meta-game tactic.
From what I have gathered, /vote mute is intended for RoC/ToS/EULA violations, not when you dislike someone.
It would be reasonable to increase the requirement to 10 votes, if multiple "sides" can agree that someone such as a chat spammer deserves a mute it would be childsplay to acquire 10 or more votes, while still keeping it out of reach of a small group of pilots who use it as a weapon of war.

Devs can investigate vote mute abuse; send a support ticket instead.
They have better things to do, this will allow them to dedicate more time to important matters like content development and testing, among other duties.
Alternate suggestion: Vote mute should not impact your ability to chat in group or in guild.
The biggest penalty to a vote mute abuse is the loss of ability to coordinate activities. If you are abusing your group or guild they can leave or kick you respectively.

+1 to savet
Inc clearly said that abusing vote mute will get their vote mute permissions revoked or worse. So send a support ticket.
Its already hard enough to mute some spammers on 100...
Also +1 for savet, this makes sense.

Pls stop being a saint after getting muted by shit talkin on channel 100 . Yer not innocent ,yer annonying. If u dont like it - dont chat on 100 make yer own channel or something :)
The suggestion without vague related allegations would have been enough. Please discuss the suggestion on its own merits and keep any allegations of abuse in a support ticket.
Thread-muted prince of persia for repeatedly failing to adhere to the Be Nice forum policies.
No, I'm increasing the general mute requirements, that's not a good solution. As I've said before, people need to submit tickets on mute abuse.
Yes, we may be slow to respond on these types of tickets, or not visibly respond, but we've been building out some related infrastructure in the last few months.

Thanks for helping, Inc.

Automation will be an improvement, interesting, thanks.
Mi5, you have inferred incorrectly.

It would seem evident from the OP that vote mute is working as it should. Constant idiocy on 100 and in the game is why I'm currently not subbed. And I'm far from the only one.

I am in favor of liberal use of /vote mute to shut down any conversation on channel(s) 1 and 100 not directly related to playing the game. If you want to talk sports, politics, religion, what ever, start a new channel.
Channel 1000 can be the whatever channel.

Where did you gather that? I think that someone being dis-likable is a good reason to mute them.
Channel 666 can be the designated dis-likable channel.
If you get muted for using channels 1 or 100 to actively play the game, then I would be concerned. Is that what happened?
