A player told me that the devs were no longer entertaining any requests to transfer capital ships between two players, due to all the recent EULA violations. I can't confirm this but it makes sense, and this suggestion just bypasses that part of the transaction. And not to be rudely targeting someone but wasn't it "Pandoram" who broke the EULA?

"it would definitely detract from pirate gameplay if everybody could easily build tridents for their alts without the normal risk."
I don't understand. How does letting people deconstruct a capship make it easier to make capships for alts? It seems to me that we can already build a capship kit and transfer the parts, which is less work than building a capship, deconstructing the capship, and transferring the parts.
At most, this would make it easier to bypass the need to make multiple capships for each alt since they could potentially share a single capship for a fraction of the cost. That seems like a reasonable concern, but it's a different concern from the one you were expressing.

One word, pizza. Reversiblity. Being reversible leaves bridges unburned. Having choices is freedom and therefore makes it easier.

That's like saying you can share your car with your neighbor by taking it apart and putting it back together again before they can use it. "share" is not a good word choice.

Taking apart and reassembling a car takes a lot more time and effort than running a couple missions, so it's not a great analogy. It's more comparable to sharing a set of wheels between two vehicles without any fancy pit-stop equipment. And you have to buy new lug nuts each time.
I think it's a bit more complicated than pulling off a couple lugnuts. My point was that it's not realistic to think that deconstructing and transferring parts back and forth between alts is going to be a common occurrence - there is still A LOT of hauling involved. And if and when it does occur, it provides a renewed opportunity for the community to intercept said parts if they so choose.

Why do so many people think that this somehow lessens their crime? What others do does not alter the ramifications of ones own choices or actions, and should never affect the resulting consequences either.
