Escort Modification for Tridents
General idea:
Basically takes the "hire a squardon" misson and puts it into your trident.
*************************
Parameters:
-Mission based, in any capital docking station
-Requires a purchase or manufacture of an 650cu "Squadron Contingent" item which must be placed in your cargo hold as a requirement to initiate the mission.
-Mission can only be taken once per day
-Upon completion of 24 hour timer, mission will pause and ships will no longer be able to be launched. Upon docking with a capital ship station, mission will conclude by removing the cargo item and placing into station storage.
-"Squadron Contingent" item may be reused for subsequent missions, but will require a "repair" mission to essentially reload/repair the ships - cost dependent upon amount of ships that need to be replaced.
-Suggest initial basic offering of 4x Vulture MkIV with Neut Mk2s, with the ground work laid for future squadrons of different varieties and armaments
-Mission timer would last for 24 hours, to allow for a full days use of the squadron if all the ships survive.
-All faction penalties incurred by squadron would be applied to owner of capital ship.
-650cu item size is to allow capship owner a small fighter with which to undock if they'd prefer, but also restrict use to Tridents
-Mission commands would include the same as "Hire A Squadron" mission, with the addition of "Dock and Repair" and "Evasive Maneuver" (which would be used if you saw someone fire homing missiles at your squadron, and would cause them to turbo away for 60 seconds.
Considerations:
-Care will need to be taken to not make the cost or manufacturing requirement so high that use is discouraged.
Potential uses:
Capital ship battles
Wormhome blockade
Latos M-7 blockade
I think such an idea has a lot of potential to enhance gameplay in the perpetual absence of enough people to form teams to rove space for combat engagements. Obviously a lot of specifics are missing (mission requirements, namely), but if accommodations were made to allow the functionality suggested, PCC could easily make a demonstration mission.

This would horribly widen the gap between trident owners and non trident owners. It's bad enough that you can thrust a big capship with shield into their faces.

haha "gap between trident owners and non-trident owners"...
Made me lol

Honestly this seems way overly complicated. Getting better pilot control of turrets making them actually useful without having to have 4 gunners makes way more sense.
Equality of outcome is a nasty outlook on life.
