I will volunteer to answer the Support tickets that result from newbs losing their 1 time Goli if this is enabled.
-1 Pay to win is for cats. If you take my meaning.
Out right purchase for something like 500 mil credits I'm okay with as long as there's no insurance.
A reward for killing a goliath seems stupid as hell. What's the backstory for it? What entity or faction would pay for killing Goliaths in general? If it was tied to a person's activity, that's one thing, but if I kill a random miner's goliath who is at least neutral with all factions, I'm not expecting a reward.
That's the stupidest thing I've seen in a while.
There should, however, be two paths to obtaining a Goliath: 1) buy it for over 500 mil credits and expect no insurance mission; 2) build the damned thing and expect an insurance mission of over 5 mil deductible.
Or, better yet, no automatic insurance missions at all. Let owners buy insurance with varied deductibles and monthly fees (just like station fees); or a one-time fee for a period of time that varies with the deductible amount. High deductible for low insurance fee. Low deductible for high insurance fee.

You guys aren't winning pay or not, at least with micro-transactions guild software can develop more content or perhaps pay for some viral marketing.
Goliath - 7.99$ - 800,000,000cr sold at Odia M-14
10/9/10/10/10 +
Trident Type M - 19.99$ - 2,100,000,000cr sold at Odia M-14
14/9/13/12/10 +
These do not include insurance, but should have the option to be insured privately by a corvus mission(80,000,000cr)/(210,000,000cr)

"pay2win" does not mean gaining a button that you press to automatically instantly win. What it usually means is that you are guaranteed an instant OP edge that gives you a much better chances of winning.
For many people finishing a trident (or whatever the top tier capital ship is) is the endgame. For those people, as soon as they buy a capital ship and spend a few minutes flying around in it, they quit and never come back since they've literally bought the endgame.
For those who consider getting a better KDA ratio than their opponents a "win," a capital ship means they can dock, refuel/repair, and hop back into battle very quickly. This is an insane edge over the other people who have to fly to a station a few warps away and back. More time spent warping means less time spent killing and padding your kill count. Often it's easier to just suicide, which also means a hit on your KDA ratio.
Can you say that again with a straight face, that it doesn't mean winning?

Tell me full subscription for a PC player isn't pay to win, just because you have a bigger gun doesn't mean anything here. At the end of the day the two decade vet with an EC-89 and freeguns is more dangerous and effective than a less skilled/experienced pilot with 400 trillion credits, 99 in all licenses and a capship.
Hell my Trident was built in less than two weeks, and I was PAID to assemble it yet I use it every time I undock nearly and I've been here forever. You have NO IDEA what the end game of VO is, this universe is much vaster and complex than just a simple accomplishment of a mission.
I want to go as far as saying that there are a large handful of players who could consistently destroy microtransaction capital ships with nothing but a 8 hour trial account, after all capital ships alone are hardly a threat in combat they are much better suited as trade ships. What makes them effective in combat is when you have the support of other pilots.
THAT is what makes this game great, not the lack of microtransactions because there are already some when it comes to crystals, ships, and livery.
The PILOT makes or breaks everything, not the EQUIPMENT.
