Givemoney
why isn't it just Give or pay
pay target 50k is a lot easier/faster than
givemoney dopeyass 50000

you can do /givemoney %target% 50000
though having the /givemoney command work with 50k or 50m would be really nice IE /givemoney Incarnate 50k
I don't know how hard it would be in dev time to make it so that in the /givemoney command k=1,000 and m=1,000,000

Target them, and bind a macro
So android Kids, bind "/givemoney %target% " and then put in a number
Or just use Aliases, but I don't use them so glhf

/alias pay "givemoney %target% 300000"
then /pay runs the command. Or use a plugin that does the same thing, but allows argument for distinct payment amounts? *shrugs*
Btw, DB guys, you can create a new button with "pay", or even with "givemoney %target% <amount>"

type /+shoot1 for a quick payment
Spence, that might not work for some people. /+shoot2
It's not about the target or the amount I just don't see why givemoney was used as a command
when pay is a lot easier faster and more sensible

Drevent, because you can use aliases to make whatever obscure command you want? and Binds, or Macros for mobile pilots, or whatever else - it doesnt need to be changed, cause pilots can make it whatever they want, and easily.
"Givemoney" was created way back when there was practically no reason to ever give anything to anyone. Don't look for too deep a reasoning of why something was randomly named a certain way like 16 years ago. It certainly was not anticipated as being something commonly used in gameplay.
As people mention, there are a zillion different ways to alias, or bind, or on the touchscreen keyboard there are even built-in Macro keys.

just because a plugin or bind can fix it does not mean it isn't daft
you can, with a single command, change it to whatever you want - its an mmo, and there is plenty of time you can type it in, such as when your on your way to another sector or one of the many hours we sit in stations. If you are offline, you could add it to the wgaf.cfg file yourself.
+1, because "pay" makes the parameter order feel more intuitive than "givemoney" does. It's a little thing, but little bits of polish do add up.
The problem with the command is that it's not inherently easy to use for newbies. Newbies are not going to know how to re-assign an alias to another word or anything like that.
Why not simply allow use of multiple commands to do the same thing. /givemoney for us older folks, and /pay (to be mentioned in tutorials) taught to all newbies. Simply teach pay from here on out, and allow givemoney to still be used.
