So, this idea is much older than that Suggestions post. It's been part of my intended design for game expansion for many years.. going back to the beginning, even. I actually recently referenced it in this thread.

But, as I mentioned in that thread, I don't know if we'll go about solving the Deneb-distance issue that way, or differently. It remains to be seen, as we get closer to that point.
