Tips to the devs
These are just tips for how you can earn more money:
1)start to advertise.
the vendetta online ad could be a space battle with capships, fighters, other ships. And at the end when a huge capship
Blows up, the ad would end with something like "Vendetta Online, get it today"or something like that.
2)advertise in game.
Along the lines of "watch video for gems" you recive 2 or 3 gems once you watch the ad. Or some of those holo bill boards you see around stations could have ads on them.any other type of ad besides "watch to earn gems" would be a terrible idea
3) in app purchases
Like uninsured capships and to get them insured would cost you an extra dollar or two, exclusive liveries for money(free for subs)
EX: goliath would cost 5 dollars, insured goliath would cost 7 dollars
I belive this would really help you get the funding you need for vendetta online

no ads ingame, unless its only for those f2p
I was thinking f2p,
The devs are super busy with, well, developing at the moment, so I will provide you with an unofficial but somewhat informed response:
First, thank you for your interest and support for VO!
I will link to the previous discussions later, but:
1) Guild has done some advertising deals in partnership with other companies, but they have not spent much money on advertising of their own because they would like to reach some functional, graphical and infrastructure milestones - otherwise they'll get an influx but would be unable to retain paying players. That would be a waste of funds. Due to a variety of factors, progress toward the milestones has not been linear. They've been taking advantage of opportunities to get "free" funding for development from partner companies - but the sequence and timing of the development is not always what Guild would have chosen for themselves. https://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/1/32107#386431

2) In-game advertising, particularly billboards, has been suggested before. The feeling at the time was that the trouble would not be worth the payout, given that VO has a relatively small audience. The big advertisers can reach more people easily through their existing streams. The video idea is interesting.
3) In-app (in-game) purchases have been debated at length in these forums. Guild is generally opposed to pay-to-win scenarios. Items and perks that do not create an undue advantage are a possibility. https://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/3/30833?page=2

1: -1 2: -1 3: -1. Just no.
I feel like everyone hates F2P for some reason. We are talking ads not F2P right.
I'm not understanding you. I see no F2P hate in this thread.
EX: goliath would cost 5 dollars, insured goliath would cost 7 dollars
I actually like this idea lots of f2p flying about in gollies that cost real money
Imagine the satisfaction you would get from killing them
don't give them insurance tho

The video idea is good and something other games do. There are ad networks that supply the videos and I believe the monetization is per view, so it would scale even at the lower player base.
The challenge is that vo is space combat so ads in space will get you killed. A good solution might be to have that in the f2p station interface. Dock with a station and have the ability to watch the video.
I have a game that I play on my phone that uses this method and I will admit I have watched my fair share of videos while sitting on the toilet.

yep, watch video for gems or something
+1 For s9me the gem limit is not enough and ads will support both sides.
My only input to this, please for the love of God, no in app pay to win micro transactions PLEASE... that pretty much killed every other game for me in the past. If anything, I would recommend a more practical approach of making crafting a even more desirable avenue. Make mining more necessary. I would recommend that the very best quality, even a level 1 government issued plasma cannon for just a vague example, could be upgraded, even if just marginable by a in depth crafting system. Hierarchy of simple mining to refining to manufacturing, to upgrading components to eventually building the item. BUT the item being upgraded is required to act as a template. No item no upgrade. Basically, consumed to begin the process. The weaker the item, the easier the process. And have multiple tears for upgrade. The whole enticing idea behind this is reward the work for crafting by being able to make superior item to what is available in stores. Yes this is implemented in STO, but its a fantastic Idea. F2P requires crystals of course. A lot of crystals. Well, depending on the item and level of upgrade. Heck, maybe if you REALLY like that government issued cannon and crazy enough to keep upgrading it, it could wayyyyyy later be upgraded to legendary effects for bragging rights? Just an idea. YES I KNOW there is already a crafting system in place, but I am lead to believe its for Capital ships and the like correct? Feedback anyone? Am I wrong, is this already in place or a simpler version of this already in place? I am curious.
EDIT
couple more ideas, cockpits perhaps? A ship or two similar to the ones from Descent? Hell, I know one game that outright uses all of them. The game is nicknamed Descent's retirement home lol

There are non-capital manufacture items too. No, weapons probably shouldnt be upgraded - we already have buffed variants of each weapon that cost a little more and may have slight changes to liscence requirement. Cockpits are implemented in VR mode. If you play on PC you can enable simulated VR to use them too. And if you wanna add ships, there are several stickied threads about that.
Also, VO isnt pay to win. there are ways around the liscence cap for weapons, and there are plenty of great ships available to you. My favorite ship happens to be useable by f2p people too; corvus vulturius, with 2 neutron blasters.

I will set up a bot to watch ads 24/7 so Inc can get more mini-mes to help 1.9 roll +1.
