I'd love to see an improved forum software here, with a decent quote functionality, private messaging and so on. That would make it easier to coordinate in-game activity, among other things.

Sure the forums are old fashioned. But I rather see all of the dev-time going into the actual game development than into updating these forums. They haven't been used for game coordination in quite a while anyway...

Another point to keep in mind is that the forum is part of presentation of the vo community and of the game itself. A sleeker forum will make a better impression, aside from the improved functionality.

Certainly the game should have priority, but there are - afaik - pretty simple plug n play forum software solutions. These shouldn't be that overwhelming. Of course, I'm not an IT guy, so who knows.

Adding a few new features to the existing forum would be less work and more secure than trying to replace it with third-party forum software.
