Since some players are trading 1 month gift subs for credits, why can't we just buy credits for cash. Give us android users an ability to buy credits the same way we purchase crystals.
I don't think this is a good idea. There are lots of ways to generate money in the game already. Giving an incentive to not use these ways seems suboptimal.
-1 you should be ashamed you even brought this up...
Reach combat three - it gives access to escort missions, which pay 9k-650k each. If you need a substantial amount more, then try farming stuff like SSS.
Honestly, outside of gems and subscriptions, the only purchasable thing should be special liveries that we dont have yet.
JJ++, a very perfect picture for this.

Being able to buy credits is not pay to win. Credits don't allow you to advance levels. I know this may be shocking but maybe some players don't like to trade... I know that must come as a shock because who wouldn't want to come home from a long day at work or school and want to log into their online game and then do more work so they can afford to do what they really like in VO, combat.
Also this would help level the playing field of vets who have billions of credits, regardless of how they obtained them.
You can trade or mine without doing combat but you can't do combat without doing one of the other two to make credits.

Myacumen, most of those vets with billions of credits are divorced, unemployed dads. VO is the only thing that gives them purpose in life. Take the significance of billions of credits away, and you'll have mass suicide on your hands. Do you really want that?

You could argue it is "pay to win". But then you leave out of consideration that no amount of money replaces combat skill which is still required to "win" in VO combat. All "buying money" does is allowing to skip some grind for things.
And the undeniable favor is filling the pockets of GS. And filling the pockets of GS means more content in the longterm. And that just outweighs the small downsides this suggestion may have.

Credits can buy a trident kit for goodness sake. Which makes the whole claim that buying credits isn't p2w ridiculous, you imbecile.
How is being able to buy a useless cargo barge pay to win?
You have to be level 5 to get the Trident build missions which means subscription.
If they did something like $10USD = 100 million game credits then to buy said cargo barge would net GS another $200 USD outside of the subscription.
This would also curb players seling kits for cash outside of VO which we all know happens.

Even if somebody decided to buy enough money to purchase a Trident, piloting said Trident would still require skill. And if some newbie decides to pay his rich daddy's money to do so and always get his Trident killed by the vets... why would we stop him? Even if 100m would only cost 10 bucks per myacumen's suggestion, then GS would profit greatly. The tradeoff is one incompetent newb in a capship. I can live with that.
That you resort to insults is very telling, you little frustrated individual, you. :-) I wish for some happiness in your life!

Yes they'd profit, but the game would go down the drain. Heavy inflation wont do much good. Some years later the game is dead.
You silly clowns have done the grind long time ago and forgotten how much part of the game it is. Without the grind, VO wouldn't be VO. I don't want microwave dinners. I want real food. We need the traders grinding up trader levels and transporting SSS through grayspace, otherwise the pirates wouldn't have any targets to chase down.
Oh that's right! VOID doesn't care about the traders! Pseudo-fake-pirates.

Inflation gets a down-vote, too. I didnt even think about that, but ive been seeing its effects in another game...
It is "pay to win".
Once you start down that road you are opening a pandoras box of what players will try to buy to get ahead of the others.
Player to player "under the table" monetary transactions would skyrocket and explode and GS would not be able to control it.
Not that those things aren't happening now - buying accounts for real cash, buying trident kits for real cash - but under the current EULA... players caught doing it should be banned for a lifetime if GS had the time and resources to find them out.

-1 Credits are too easy to get as it is. Get a freaking job. Every station has them if you aren't up to entrepreneurship. Hell my phone only character that gets play less than 3 hrs a week is fast approaching 10 mil.
-1 VO is more than Pew pew pew, shoulda paid and Sedina B-8
Having this in VO would kill trade, kill the very concept of an MMO and kill piracy along with it.
I would argue that Vendetta Online has the best PVP of any game on the web, but one of the things that drive me crazy is the lack of consequence and meaning to a death.

Kill piracy? That death and credits already have no meaning means piracy has always been a fantasy only relevant when players pretend.

I don't think the solution to those two problems is making credits even more irrelevent.

It's not. I was making a snarky comment re the 'kill piracy' question to thread hijack and point out that there are continuing fundamental issues that make rp optional. The last thing that is needed after at least of decade of gradually reducing the ease with which credits can be made in game is to allow players to bypass doing actual 'work' in game to earn them.
