New Trident Weapon
As mentioned in the previous suggestion comments, the teradon weapon one, i suggested a new weapon.
I liked the idea so will expand it here.
First thing, its the hac main weapon effect visually id like to see used, but scaled down a lot. I would guess its full physical size of its projectile appears around 150m easily, but the projectile from a trident should be no wider than the nose of the ship. Maybe 25m or something.
It should have an adequate concussion effect to not exactly spin a trident, but enough so upon contact there is a very small shift in angle. Enough to notice, but not enough to actually impair movement.
It would be a charging weapon, consuming more than a full trident cell in power over the course of ten seconds or so, and start off with a ridiculously low damage like 1000 or something if uncharged. A maximum charged shot should be around 45% of a queen shield.
The projectile speed should be relatively slow, and easy to dodge by even a newb in an ec, maybe 150ms to 160ms. Maybe even slower.
The reasons for these stat suggestions are to keep in line with incarnates suggestions of playbalancing. Sit the numbers with what exists, dont overcome things already in place. This way, a trident trio could drop a shield, but an individual cannot without turrets or fighter support.
It would encourage capships to work together, as well. Also, i am not sure of the numbers for a shield on a connie, but it should not be achievable to kill its shield with any less than four times the firepower required to drop a queen. Id even suggest ten times or more.
Its like throwing a small pebble real hard at a huge rock. The huge rock is never gonna split, but the little one will likely be destroyed.
Size differences alone would constitute a generator power increase required of a factor of ten. The shield would follow suit...

Sorry, but that thing just seems useless to me. How often do you see three Tridents flying together? We barely have 100 Trident Captains in VO. And what stops the guy who is under attack by these super slow charging guns to just run out of the sector in his Trident while the other three guys are busy charging? In all honesty: They may crack the shields. But then the Trident owner just jumps out.
I know the feeling. Somebody came up with something big and explosive and incarnate said "No, that doesn't suit my plans with the game right now."
And then somebody who really wanted something big and explosive thinks "Oh well, maybe if I suggest something that's still explosive and fun, but put it in smaller shoes, it may happen".
But that's just useless. It makes much more sense to just wait until the game is "ready" (according to incarnate) so that big explosive guns would not completely ruin everything. However long that may take. Everybody has the choice to wait or not doing it.

Just give us a decent large port weapon that requires 25 grid. We shouldn't be restricted to regular lp weapons on the trident.
Thats my exact point fluffy! A new lport weapon, only fot the player capships, and that would not break the game. Balance as per incarnates comments through here.
A weapon which adds some capship only fun without unbalancing things that already exist.
And to sieger... A weapons such as this is not intended to make 1v1 dent combat possible, nor would it be aimed at use during general flight. It would be that capital cannon that is used when you choose to fight! Use it in hive skirms and stuff, not in pirating escapades. Pirates already have enough anti capship methods... this weapon would only be useful when the opponent chooses to stand and fight.

I gave up long ago on seeing new content in VO. Then the devs surprised me with the Goliath.
I would like to see Trident's as a warship the way they were intended to be. It is sad that now the Goliath has just 1 turret port shy of the SAME amount of firepower as a Trident type m. When the Goliath is clearly a cargo ship and the trident is clearly a warship.
It is also sad that Goliaths are still around. its been nearly a month of rapid trident part building for anybody who buys a sub and clicks a button.
The main point here is the Trident needs more pilot seat firepower. It is sad that Incarnate will read this and likely do nothing about it.
But the good thing is I'll be sticking around to build more trident parts and kill more VOID/TGFT/Itan for a long time!

it is also sad that you will not pay $10 for your "I won't pay $10" alt that you use to auto fire your turrets... just think if more people paid money for their helper alts GS might have more money to do the things you are sad they aren't doing.

Wally you don't like your buddy ARF's plugin anymore since ONE got a hold of it? You guys have literally been using this plugin for 3+ years.
Hell I saw ARF giving Incarnate a demonstration in B8 where I was the spam target years ago when I was complaining about this, Incarnate didn't see anything wrong with it at the time.
Maybe if you cry enough he'll fix this "unsupported" plugin for you.
