Serco/Itani Warships
I'm a bit of a forum dweller and while I was reading about the death of nationalism I had an idea.
If the Goliath is going to be the latest Capital Ship, let's look a little further afield. Before this suggestion is even slightly valid, construction costs for the Trident type M and all other Capital Ships should be brought down to a reasonable, non-stupid level. The Trident Type M shouldn't take months to build, and definitely not when there are other Capital ships in the game. I've always found this stupid and should really be changed.
The Heavy Assault Cruiser....
Make this Colossus player manufacturable and make it so can only be built (In its true glory) by those who engage seriously in nationalism, create low-end variants for gray that have the capability to fire a new stasis based weapon. The Gray Space/Corvus variant should be 25% worse in terms of statistics but should be equipped with tools that would make pirating a Goliath or Trident slightly easier.
Old school piracy and fighter based nationalism would still exist as no one is going to be outrun by a capital ship if they have a brain, and even mining can be enhanced if Capital mining beam turrets are introduced.
For construction in your nation's capital the player must be part of the faction currently leading the Deneb scoreboard and CTC scoreboard. It should cost roughly twice the resources needed for a Trident Type M. If the player loses their nation standing then they lose the ability to buy it back on insurance until it is corrected.
Serco PK Requirement: 250 Itani only
For Itani Pk Requirements: 250 Serco only
For construction in Gray the player must be KOS with all three factions, 250 player kills and should cost twice the resources required for the Trident Type M and an additional 50% due to using worse manufacturing equipment. If the player fixes their nation standing then they lose the ability to buy back it on insurance until it is corrected.

Note I:(This idea would essentially nudge veterans and skilled pilots into more specified fields than just PVP, Make nationalism the go-to role, like it should be. And solve the problem of Piracy being made obsolete by more readily available Capital Ships)
Note II:( I left the Terradon Frigate out of this equation, if you can think of a great way to balance it, I would love to hear)
Note III:(The TPG Constellation Heavy Transport Fits perfectly into this plan assuming that the Corvus Variant Heavy Assault Cruiser's Stasis would work based on mass and not energy)
Be constructive, your word of me will never be gospel.

I generally like this idea. I would put many of the resources in Deneb as well as the manufacturing station. For a ship half the size of the trident, the cost should be proportional. However, VO being VO and Incarnate a sick sadist, he might just listen to you on that one.
I don't mind national versions with slight variations as is expected with the S&P.
I do not like the idea of a lesser Grey version. What I would rather see is make these relatively cheap & easy to build compared to the Trident and then make them conquerable, where an enemy can steal the ship from the builder and said ship can then be stolen by anyone else until the ship is eventually destroyed.

So what you're suggesting is a system where a group of pirates would seek to disable the ship and then board it, with the hope of taking command of it?
Though the idea does sound amazing, there would be an immediate problem with Nationalists handing over their Heavy Assault Cruiser to their pirate friends. This would remove the point of creating role separation.

There are most likely some scenarios that would have to be considered to minimize exploitation. I might be wrong, but I seem to recall similar talk about making a trident conquerable early on as well as the ability to lend them. Also, it doesn't have to be Pirates. It could be nationalist or even traders stealing a pirate ship or recovering one that had been lost.
Also, with the eventual introduction of player owned / built stations this gives the devs a chance to play with the concept before putting players substantial work and inventories at risk.

Double dent resources? -100
Building a dent is already a life depriving event, don't make building this even worse.
