Psilocybic Cargo
i was sober and thinking and i thought "hey, we need some mind altering widgits.." then someone said "yeah, that would be cool"
So my idea is this: you got this widgits that pop up randomly for sale, so like once you might find them in 7, but then the dealer goes away and you cant get them their again.
They sell pretty well in 17 and 18 (black market sectors and all) most of the time due to their rareness.
The fun factor: while in your ship they produce wack effect on you. Your screen shifts from inverted colors and stuff to really bright colors and all, and ships that aren't really there pop up, and your fov changes around a little bit (like it shifts from 75 down to 50 at 1 fov a second, then goes up to 120, then back to 75) and all.

I like this idea actually. Anyone ever play GTAIII? There is one mission where you have to drive a guy to the hospital while drunk. The game actually increases the amount of motion blur (or at least as close as a PS2 can come to motion blur) by dropping the refresh rate. And to top it off, it slows down the response rate of the controls. It was a fun mission. But I don't think they should be widgets. I think it should be something that happens when your ship is damaged below a certain number (lets say 30%) where your ship has to reroute power from life support to keep your rengine going. The slight lack of oxygen inebirates you.
Not to say that acid trip widgets wouldn't be interesting too. But I have another twist on that idea. You can buy the acid trip widgets at the station and they won't affect you, but if you pick one up that has been dropped then you'll get trippy. I can see it now.
Icarus: "Thanks for the cargo sucke. . . whoa. . . the sky is like, green dude. . ."

lol, yeah, but some of us would wanna fly aound tripping just for fun
Drug widgets. Very high profit, but NPC police valks chase you from sector to sector, trying to stop you from reaching your destination.
That'd be hilarious. EASTER EGG!!!!!
