Oops! Excuse me for the title of this post, I guess being in space too long has a detrimental effect on my ability to perform simple actions :)
Sadly I can't correct this in editing the message.
You might be familiar with the first few lines already, but here it goes...
2.4) Galactic Auction System
General) Trade between players by way of being able to put items up for sale at one or more locations, leaving the goods. When visiting a location you can check what's offered for sale at that place and how much it costs.
a) players do not need to be online simultaneously to buy from or sell to others
b) money from transactions is immediately transferred to the players account, wherever the seller is located at that moment
c) you can set the price for wat you want to sell, so there will be competition in pricing
d) in your inventory you can see what you have made available per location and how much you are asking for it
e) when buying items or ships, the dialog shows you no multiple of the same thing with different pricing, but just the cheapest available, which when bought is replaced by the next cheapest of that same item available at that location
f) a fee could be involved for for the player/faction that owns the station, a trade-tax if you will, this fee could be set by the contolling player/faction
Opinion) This should benefit people who cannot afford to be online all day, they just might raise some cash between sessions. It would also be a nice way to dispose of things and get more money back than the standard station rate, once you leave them somewhere with a price-tag there's no more thinking about it, just check your inventory and credits from time to time. The fact that regions/stations will have different taxes changeable at will by their owners (or the server's AI) provides for a constantly changing 'weather pattern' in the trading climate, which in turn would make the life of the space-merchant a bit more thrilling.

great idea, but as many of the great ideas, something that will only, (should be), implemented towards the end of the games creation. This is because a couple of reasons
1) What exactly are you going to sell that people can just as easily go look for.
2) The only way this would work is when we have 1000's of sectors with different things in them that would take a long time to get.
Nonetheless this is a very good idea, sort of like an intergalactic EBAY, I hope this idea it put into the game at sometime in the future.
