Conq Station Enhancements
Make Latos I-8, Pel C-12, Brac M-14 contain manufacturing missions that spawn more turrets and upgrades to SF as a start.
Then work out "module manufacturing missions" such as station shielding, destructable N-2 style trade beacon(for NPC trader traffic/player economy), destructable shipyard/capdock that can be fed credits or mats and spit out support NPC's like unaligned HACs and teradons that can be ordered around greyspace furie style.

Would the purchased enhancements atleast tied be to a key then or would all improved defenses be gone once the station is taken by somebody else?

Hell no, these enhancements are intended to extend the amount of work it takes to capture a station, so the shield would need to be cracked and turrets destroyed under addition threat of lets say for instance a dent load of greyhounds(player equipped)(no respawns)
I'm sure an exception can be made for non-combat enhancements(still destructable once shields cracked so careful with those AV's/TU's)
Once the station switches hands they're starting from the basic 6+2 turret + 2 SF format
I know I'm kinda grasping for fury style HAC's but we can dream can't we!

I like the idea of destructible station modules that could be built via missions. But I would go further and say put them on all stations however don't let someone of the same nation be able to destroy them due to how easy it would be to "grief".
It would be really neat to have modules built inton the games statons such as a commodity module, shipyard module, mission control, etc. That are destructible and upon destruction would make the linked aspect inaccessible until rebuilt through missions or the delivery of certain goods. Elite:dangerous has a limited version of this already.
I don't know the 2.0 vision you guys have for this game, but something like this would make actions more meaningful and even make mobile players feel like they can make a a difference.
